My sister has autisum and its really hard to live with her! She is always screaming if she doesn't get her way which means I can't always do what I wanna do. She is not spoiled she has a mental problem so it is not her fault so plz dont say that my parents spoil her! Does anyone else have a sibling or relative with autisum or something like it? (I don't know if i spelled autisum right bear with me ok)

My son does. Most kids like that just plain don't know how to express themselves appropriately. It doesn't occur to her that she shouldn't/won't always get her way. Her brain isn't wired like that. The simple things that you and I learn automatically, autistic people have to be taught. I always have to remind my son that when people talk to him, they expect a response from him. It doesn't occur to him that he's being rude if he doesn't respond, he just doesn't have anything to say so he doesn't say anything.

I would suggest that you read up on autism. There are great books out there written specifically for siblings of autistic kids that could be really helpful for you.

my grandson has autism 3 1/2 years old , he is a twin and has a sister 14 months older than him. he is also a screamer, Its not fair for yourself with a autistic sister as I know that they get much more attention due to her disability, Its VERY hard on the siblings. your best to try to understand why your parents treat her differently. She will never have a normal life like you will and this puts a strain on your parents, there are books out there for you to read on siblings of autistic children, maybe you would benefit by reading one,,, Stay strong and just love your sister ... Good Luck.

my youngest son has autism and Ben my eldest (13 years old ,Sam 10)
is going to talk with you if that's OK?

omg! that's me yes its so hard!
Sam has got better the older he gets(but not good just less trouble)
i love him to bits
and sometimes he is so funny and other times i can't cope at all!
we deal with him very strictly and my parents try hard to make sure i don't loose out , but facts are facts and his problem DOES impact on me, some times i wish he was ok
but then he wouldn't be Sam
he is going to make my life hard i know but that's not his fault is it?
what can i say he is my brother and he is hard work (no really)
he has been taking i very high dose of wild salmon oil (omega 3/6's) and it seems to have helped (talk to my parents if your interested)
all i can say is I'm at Grammar school doing well, friends etc.sports etc
.just elected school councillor so it can't be so bad can it?
it just take more work that's all , will it impact me later ?, probably but that's life! I'll look out for him always
what else can you do
anything else i can say please contact me . Ben
