So I undo the restore because I dont want to reinstall every pack (I have them all, big pain in the butt!!) Help is much appreciated!

The simple answer is.... Thats not possible. Because System Restore is used to restore your PC to the state in which it was some time ago, working properly. So any changes done after that date will be lost mostly along with their Registry entries.
Copy and Reinstall is the only option.

it is quite simple if you just want to keep simple data saved on your computer like some movie, music or your files.
Only installed software, which make use of System registry are gone after the restore.

Try doing this, which i always do & it helps me everytime...
Whatever you want to keep on your Computer, just copy it on another drive (For instance, if your windows is installed in C:\ drive , move the needed data to D:\ or E:\ drive).
Perform the restore.
Run those applications.
if it is simple data files, they will stay intact, but if they are applications (like MS-Word, Adobe Photoshop etc) they will still be there, but won't work properly. So No use keeping them then...
If you can specifically tell what is ' The Sims 2' I can help you in a lot better way...

Happy Solution.

Hi. First, the System Restore is always a last resort when something goes wrong. Make sure you only use it for that. Make backups of what you do NOT want to lose and then just copy them back (faster) but remember that the registry is sometimes modified.

...comes with the restore...copy all the folders to a CD. Replace them in the exact location..really the only thing you can do.
