I think the better question is: why are Christians convinced that everyone in the world should be Christian and stop at no ends to proseletyze people? They even go to other countries and feed starving people - if they'll convert. Isn't that sleazy?

I don't have anything against Christians, but I can't stand proseletyzers! I think you're misinterpreting the bible. Some Jehovah's witness family actually opened my door and came into my house the other day! What's that all about? Why can't I walk to class without some guy in a suit running me down to give me some wacked-out version of the new testament? I even crossed the street and ran into his partner - you can't escape these people! Believe as you want to believe, but leave other people alone!

Probably because Agnostics accept the lack of certainty. Most religions have a very clear program of beliefs and practices, which they believe are 'CORRECT".

Another reason, is that Agnostics are not an organized group. Organizations need numbers, structure and rules to exist and to gain power in the world.

Personally, I take delight ( as I see others do) in posing a diplomatically worded challenge or two, that encourages people to start thinking for themselves.

I know some people who try to convince others that god does not exist, so your statement is not really true. But I do agree that non-believers spend far less energy and time trying to defend their beliefs than Christians do.
But we do not have a religion that tells us to go out and convert the masses.
I really hate when religious fanatics try to shove their beliefs down my throat

I'm agnostic.. well, an agnostic atheist...

I sort of try to convert people... I try to get people to understand that they cannot prove with 100% certitude their beliefs... whether atheist or Christian.

Part of being agnostic is being uncertain, so it's kind of difficult to convert someone to something so vague. That, and no ice cream socials.

Because agnostics aren't sure about god, so they wouldn't be sure if they should convert anyone.

Because they are perfectly content with the choice they've made and have no desire to get people to convert.

For me personally, it's because I realize that I don't have it all figured out, and I respect other people enough to let them come to the conclusions that work for them.
