Heres my list of what the PS3 has, more than half of these feautures are not on the 360. Its got better graphics, blue ray disc player, DVD player (Can also store movies), has sixaxis (A feauture that is kind of something you find on the wii, for example in resistance when a chimera jumps on you then you shake your controller to get him or it off), free online gaming, compatible with bluetooth headsets, very high reliability, Can store pictures, music player (can store music on there from an mp3 player, iPod, or a cd), Can play both PS2 and PS1 games, can download games or demos from the PS store, wifi built inside for browsing the internet or online gaming, 60 GB which is more than enough, and thats all i got, oh can't forget the fact that it is THE BEST GAMING SYSTEM EVER. GO FOR THE PS3
Man, thats the most I wrote in my life

PS3 is $499 and the Xbox 360 Elite is $479. $20 dollar difference...
PS3 games produced are on Hd 50gig blueray (more space for better graphics without sacrificing game levels and game size..) GTA4 developers even stated that the game will have better graphics and gaming on the ps3 version and are having issues with the 360 version because of 8gig dvd game format... They may have to make the 360 version on multiple disc so if you like getting out of your chair alot while playing, .....
360-elite games produced on dual layered 8gig dvds
game developers are finding the 360 format to limiting and finding that they have to sacrifice game graphics or gaming levels and challenges...
Ps3 for the extra $20 you get a full HD entertainment system that also surfs the internet. You can goto any website and watch or download videos like YouTube...You can access your email and print it etcc...
Ps3 Blueray hd movie player that also upscales regular dvds movies to HD...It also upscales ps2 games to hd..
Ps3 comes with rechargeable controllers...
Ps3 comes with free online play and Wifi
All of the above the 360-elite can't do.
360 and elite -For hd movies you have to buy the hddvd player for $200. For
360 elite for quick charge kit you have to buy it for $20.
360 elite no interent browser
Ps3 hdmi 1.3 (supports deep color)
360-elite- 1.2 doesn't support deepcolor 1.3
Ps3 Nvidia RSX GPU Graphics at least two years ahead of it's time. And programmers aren't even close to using it's full potential yet.
360-elite is hardware locked into outdated DX9 graphics-Game programmers are developoing for DX10 (full 4d and 3d motion realism)
THe ps3 8cell broadband processors. CPU-Designed specifically for highspeed calculations (Games Capable of more AI charactors )
Xbox 360 -Elite-- The New 65NM CHip....Isn't any different then what they used in the 360 core except it cost less to produce....
Ps3 you can buy any external usb harddrive and hook it up loaded with music videos , etc...You can buy any brand 2.5 ata harddrive and upgrade the harddrive size for ps3...
THe elite and 360 requires Microsoft harddrives only- for a 20gig it's $100, for the 120 it's $189
360 -elite for wifi you have to pay an additional $100 and online gaming is $50 a year...And for that $50 a year to play online you also get stuck with third party in menu advertising...
To use 60% of what the 360 and elite can do you have to buy the addons and you'll spend over $750 before you even insert a game.
THe elite and new 360s hdmi, 65nm, red ring of death--Microsoft has no Idea what the cause is, You can't fix what you can't find. So yes they are all vulnerable.
Get the ps3 you can use it for so much more. We own all three. THe wii, elite and ps3,

Not sure, I have a friend that has both and he plays the 360 more... but that could be just b/c it has better games like you said. all I know is I played 'Halo 3' over at his house on the 360 and it's AWESOME!! I personally would go with the 360... at least until PS3 comes out with better games and doesn't cost $600!

i have a ps3 and it is alot better then the 360. the ps3 have the free online play if you already have a wireless router. with the 360 you have to pay. the ps3 you can put music, movies, and pictures on it. the sensor in the ps3 controller is very good, its not too sensitive and you can ajust the amount of sensitivty it has. personally i think the ps3 has better graphics and better online gameplay.

well, let's look at the price:
If you want it to last about 5 years:
1 ps3:$499.99
5 xbox 360's: $1749.95
so the ps3 is cheaper since one of them will last for more than 5 years, and if you get 5 xbox 360s, they should almost last 5 years. Trust me, expect to get the RED RING OF DEATH when you buy a crapbox 360.

Based on your response you sound more like youd enjoy xbox360 more but for the longterm bar none go with ps3. The blue-ray player is more than likely going to edge out hd-dvd (a blueray disc holds more information to that of an hd disc for the same price. Which means more content and better visuals for the games created) but its still yet to be seen who will dominate as of now studios are starting to pick sides as well as rental stores like blockbuster who will only carry blueray in store as well as netflix will start to carry blueray exclusively as well. If you do get an xbox360 youll also have to buy the hd-dvd add on as well while blueray is part of sonys ps3 hardware. When it comes to video games it depends on what you like. FPS (first person shooters) as well as sports games is what makes xbox 360s bread and butter, as you know halo3 was just released. The bad news if you come to microsoft is the lack of exclusive titles with really only halo and gears of war being the flagship games of the console (altho they have two good rpgs eternal sonata and blue dragon). They rely heavily on u.s game development since the asian market doesnt seem impressed enough with xbox to devote itself as it has with nintendo and sony. The xbox live content is wide (but carrys additional costs to purchase back catalogue games as well as charging you monthly to play your online multiplayer content) and is executed well whats disappointing is that you cant play your xbox games on the newer system as well as microsofts problems with the units overheating causing its chip to fry (google red ring of death and see what comes up). The PS3 on the same note is not as put together as far as their online services (home is still in development) but they as well have downloadable content and to acess their online features for their games are free with no monthly charges. Games are where sony has the edge with exclusive titles from rpgs, (final fantasy and the mana series) fighters, (tekkan and virtual fighter) shooters, (killzone 2 and haze) to action (metal gear and god of war) to horror (silent hill and manhunt2). as well as platforming (ratchet and clank or little big planet) to racing if you like that sorta thing (gt4) Sonys ps2 entire back catalogue can as well be played on the ps3 with some exceptions that new models of the system will be able to play. The ps3 also has content using wifi that will allow you to play downloadable games on your psp. Right now most games will look better on xbox but within a year the ps3 may surpass xbox graphically as the ps3 has only been out for a year and it takes several years for developers to make the most of a systems hardware this goes for xbox as well which has been out for 2 yrs now. Both systems are great and have their pros and cons but from what you listed as your likes go with sony it'll treat you better in the long run.

The choice really comes down to 1 thing.
You a Halo guy or a Tekken guy?
No other point is relevant.
