My doctor says he beleives that I have fibromyalgia. My mom has suffered from this for 20 years also so I guess it is hereditary. I am wondering what other people do for the pain and what they have tried out and what works best to help.

I have FM along with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. There is no cure for any of it but I see my spinal surgeon regularly, eat a healthful diet, TRY to get regular rest (this is a big problem), and take my medications. I take Voltaren, Neurontin, Soma and Lortab. The things that seem to help the most are keeping a positive attitude, being with family and friends, laughing, enjoying my pets, and finding things to do for those who are in much worse health than I.

Hi!

First of all, I'm sorry you and your mom both have Fibromyalgia. Although I do not have it, I have other ongoing conditions elsewhere that are painful. Pain, no matter what, is never enjoyable!

I've turned to my local health food store to help my conditions, and have tried my best to educate myself with natural remedies. My body does not respond well to pharmaceutical drugs, so it's herbs and supplements for me! And, it's worked.

I just started taking Serrapeptase, and have seen amazing results. I'm taking it for sciatica, but I came across an article you might want to read about Fibromyalgia and how Serrapeptase might help you. It's found here:
http://www.ivanfraser.com/articles/health/serrapeptase.html

Here's another link that might help:

But I trust this website with my life:

Capra Mineral Whey added with Boron is very useful with cramps, spasms, and pain. You can read about it in their link about sciatica found here:
http://www.regenerativenutrition.com/content.asp?id=286

But, your best bet in my opinion is using Serrapeptase, getting lots of rest, eating healthy, and filling your life with happiness.

Here's a list of foods to avoid and healthy ones to replace them with (this also helps with recovery):

Please, please, please never take no as an answer! Get educated, research, and look for cures. Never settle for second best, and always investigate everything. If your doctor wants you to have surgery, ask why. Look into the actual surgery itself via google or library and research. What are the "long term" side effects of the medications he prescribes? And don't just do this for mainstream treatments but natural as well. And, depending on your body, it might take a few weeks to see effects -- sometimes less -- but well worth it. Just remember, Knowledge is power! :)

And remember ... As long as there is breath in your body, there is hope! Be smart, research, relax, treat your body right, and know there are NO limitations but the ones you limit yourself to.
