Ignorant is a very strong term. I feelthey are very intellegent people who are lost in the world. I was there for many years. They search for the answers to lifes questions in a "cosmic Cube" without God and the answers are not there. If they search in thier hearts and minds they will come to know that God is real and the truth they are searching for.

Well now that's tricky. You see the word Ignorant means "not having the knowledge of"

As in, I am ignorant of the Russian language which is true cause I can't speak a word of Russian.

Now usually most will use the word ignorant in a demeaning way, and in that sense, No I do not think atheist are ignorant.

I think that many are very well educated, and up to date on modern issues. but with that said, sometimes we just cant see the obvious. Many times a child will understand something that most adults can not. That's the way we are. I could say that most atheist are ignorant in the ways of God, because they do not know or understand the ways of God. But If I did use the word, I would not use it in the way so many today intend it to be, a put down.

Nobody is ignorant, just uninformed. Most atheists have not looked at, nor studied the Bible seriously, so some of their questions may appear ignorant, but mostly, I think a lot of the people that post here think it's funny to ask stupid questions like, "will my cellphone work in hell?" and so on, and so on.

I truly love debating with atheists that have actually studied the Bible, because their questions challenge me to learn more about my faith, and to rely and trust God more.

Not ignorant-- just of a different belief. That's like asking if a Christian is ignorant, or a Muslim, Jew, etc.

In actually, atheism takes just as much faith to believe as any other religion. It is the religion of not believing in a higher power. Faith is (usually--not all cases) placed into science. But (again, most--not all) atheists still learn knowledge based on "Knowledge of Authority". This means that they believe something because that is what they have been taught or have read about or have learned. (Very similar to the same form of knowledge in most religons.)

Unless an atheist, who is devout in their scientific explanations of the world, is a scientist him or herself, he or she is only parroting the words of books and/or scientist before him/her (the same as one who is in a religion would do unless they have fully evaluated the religion, studied the history of it, and have had a personal experience for the basis of their beliefs).

There as, if one is atheist or religious based on knowledge of authority and not on personal experience, both can be just as ignorant as the other.

No--they just choose to pay attention to the things that they believe are provable. I would venture to say that it's pretty hard to be ignorant of Christianity's main precepts if you grew up in America--although less is "common knowledge" today than it used to be.

Faith and Belief are of the soul, the brain justifies it,but
don't create it. ALL brains have variable intelligence,
but not necessarily a Theist input.

I refuse to generalize. Some are ignorant, some are not. They're the same as any other group.
