Ok, for those that say that the pagan / wicca ways are "evil" "against god" or whatever, you do know that you are helping to spread lies, right? Have you actually sat down with a pagan? Or someone that is Wicca? I would say not, simply because of the fact that you are perpetuationg the lies spread by the church. According to the church, any religion that is not some form of christianity is the work of the devil.
Wicca itself is based on the cycles of nature. The celebrations are simply peacefull. There is no blood sacrifice (like killing animals, or blood from others) and the Wicca ways have nothing to do with the devil. In fact, in Wicca, there is no such thing as ultimate evil. The devil itself is a christian character. If someone is not practicing the religion, how is it that they can worship something that is not part of their religion?
On the part of the blood. There is one ritual that requires blood. The blood is from the person that is performing the ritual. And, the amount of blood required is no more than if you had niced yourself while shaving. It is just a small little pin prick on the palm. This is for the blood oath ritual. Otherwise, there are no rituals in TRUE Wicca that require blood.
Do not be fooled by Hollywood and the church. What is shown in movies, on TV, and the lies that the church constantly spreads are far from the truth. The ending line of the Wiccan Reed is an example of how all of those that are truely on the path are to act:
"As it harm none, do as you will." 8 simple words that make up the cardnal law of magick.

Wicca was created in the 1950's and is a combination of various pagan beliefs plus some other witchy sorts of stuff. On the other hand paganism generally refers to one of the pre-Christian traditions, such as the ancient Greek Gods, etc. It's much older but also not very well documented and so most of the modern revivals are based on a certain amount of guess-work. In my opinion, in order to understand paganism, and all the other religions as well, you need to start at the beginning through the study of archeology and man's oldest form of spirituality... and see how things evolved from there. And by an AMAZING COINCIDENCE, it just so hapens that I have a website that deals with that very subject. I will send you a link privately, and I hope you find it helpful. Blessings, Jean

Wicca is a nature-based religion found in various countries throughout the world.
Because there is no centralised organisation in Wicca, and no single "orthodoxy", the beliefs and practices of Wiccans can vary substantially, both between individuals and between traditions. Typically, the main religious principles, ethics and ritual structures are shared, since they are key elements of traditional teachings and published works on the subject.
Wicca is only one variety of pagan witchcraft, with distinctive ritual forms, seasonal observances and religious, magical and ethical precepts.
There is a lot of information on wikipedia. Very good information to. Not biased. Link below.
Other sites if you are comfortable that are more Wiccan based are below as well.

Oh dear, I just knew you would get some stupid answers from people who can see no path but their own. I have been pagan for many years, mostly following a druidic path, but these days becoming more green witch too.
My beliefs include the duality of a divine source, having aspects of both male and female. I believe in specific gods and goddesses, though many pagans don't.
That is the beauty of paganism, there is no holy text that we must all adhere to, so we are free to worship as we wish and follow the path that calls to us.
It is an earth/nature based religion, so we have respect for the earth and all the things upon it, living things such as plants, animals, people, but also the minerals etc.
I believe many of these things can be used to our benefit, herbalism, crystal healing etc
There are so many things I could write about, but it would take too long lol. Try http://www.witchvox.com/

Hi and thank you for asking.
Mine isn't a religion but they are my beliefs. I believe in a God and Goddess but I believe they are two halfs of a whole. So sometimes I refer to Spirit instead. I believe that I can call on them separately if I feel that's what I need to do but I can just call on Spirit if male or female specific energy isn't needed. I do some rituals, magic, healing and am always learning more. I don't think our learning ever stops. I believe that all religions and beliefs have truth for the person who follows it. I don't believe that it's necessary for all people to share the same beliefs for them to get along. I don't believe it is right to judge someone on their beliefs but by who they really are. I believe that our bodies are just shells and that we will reincarnate. I believe that people and animals come into our lifes for a reason. I believe that animals aren't just animals to be used as we see fit. I am not a vegetarian but have no trouble understanding how people can be.
If you have any question feel free to email me.
EDIT: I'm sorry the fear mongers responded even though you asked them not to. Just ignore them. It will be ok.

Paganism varies wildly depending on who you talk with. There are core beliefs, such as a profound respect for nature. But others, such as the gods/goddesses involved will vary from group to group and what tradition, if any,. they follow. Covens and solitary practicioners will have different answers to the questions. Most of the pagans I've met have the moto that 'it's your life, your soul, your journey. I can't tell you what to do, but can guide along the way if you need help'

I'm a Pagan Seeker, which means that I don't really have a religion right now, but I am looking for one. Right now I'm reading alot about Greco-Roman mythology and probably will get into a Greek Recon religion.

Greetings!
As a Druid, our basis comes from Celtic Culture, though we trace our beginnings back to the Indo-Europeans who spread through many lands.
Druidry is more than a Religion (in the modern sense) as we poke into EVERYTHING, including Politics, the Weather, Science, Herbs, Farming, Metal Working, you name it.
Druid.net is good, ADF.com, OBOD, BDO, RDNA, heck! just google "Druids"

you'll have to be more specific cupcake.
There are Kemetics (Egyptian) Heathen (Norse/Germanic) Celtic Recon, Druid, Wiccan, Hellenistic and those are just the ones I can think of off my head. The main this is that we are polytheistic. Everything after that ranges pretty broadly.

I am more of the Germanic/Norse tradition. I am a herbalist and witch. I believe in certain key principles
A strict moral code of:
Do not bring harm to yourself
Do not bring harm to others
Do not bring harm to the earth
I believe in karma
I believe in reincarnation- not the Hindu version of reincarnation where humans come back as animals etc. I think the human soul is distinct from an animal soul or plant soul etc.
I do not believe in eternal reward and eternal punishment. This lifetime is not the ONLY one we'll have to continue on this journey nor will it determine our everlasting fate.
I practice herbal and ritual healing and magical work but guided by that strict moral code (no hexing or spells purely for selfish gain or to force the free will of others)
I believe Divine spirit runs through nature
I believe the Divine is both masculine and feminine
I do not believe in a vengeful or punishing Diety/s. I think we punish ourselves through our own actions and determine the rate at which we reach soul perfection and enlightenment throughout eternity.
I will share my beliefs but I do not believe in trying to convert ANYONE to them. I came to my current faith through a long time seeking and researching and I believe everyone should walk their own spiritual journey and not depend on others to tell them what to believe. Truth will manifest to you in the best to help you make the most of this life and your eternity of existence.
I wish you best of luck in your seeking. My advice to you is to avoid the current sensationalism surrounding wicca and paganism. Go to more academic sources for information.
