I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong;

Divine revelation will never cause the Word to be confusing, contradictory, or false.
Example - If someone claims that you can lose your salvation, and we are born again by God's mercy (1Peter 1 among dozens of other places), and God's mercy endures forever (Psalm 136 and scores of other places) then we have an apparent contradiction. The contradiction is settled when we rightly interpret the Word and understand everlasting life is forever.
Rightly interpreting the Word is an approach that one must take and stick to for the entire Bible. The Word is to be interpreted by the Spirit and not the letter (2Cor 3).
The letter kills and the Spirit gives life...the letter is the ministry of condemnation and the Spirit is the ministry of righteousness.
Divine revelation will cause us to interpret the Word by the Spirit in such a way that the Word agrees with itself. If it appears to not agree, the problem is us, not God.

LOL... That's an easy one. Don't believe any of it any more than you would the babble of a magic brook. You know reality when you see it just as you always have and if you're able to think critically and objectively and to draw your conclusions honestly, you you see that the brook was just as accurate as any divine revelation.
What nonsense belief is, eh?.... LOL

H ha ha ha ... Just like love, eh, mist_dark. Sorry, but that doesn't give me a great deal of confidence in the divine detection system.... LOL

Scripture will validate and confirm true divine revelation. Also, if it is prophetic in nature, it will come to pass, possibly in a way we hadn't expected, but its truth will be confirmed by the fact that it happens.

Ask God. If he says it's true, it is.
Even if there is no God, the revelation will be divine revelation because you BELIEVE it is. We define the world as we so choose. I can define something as a true divine revelation if I want to.

The Revelation has to be in accordance to the Word of God.
Considering it is, you feel it in your heart, sometimes like a fire burning, sometimes your heart beats faster...
But ask for God's confirmation! He always confirms!!
"for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints" - 1 Corinthians 14.33.
God Bless you!

When everything makes sense. When you use your common sense, and all of the pieces fit together. When you feel at peace and it can answer all of your questions.

Divine revelation is generally preceded by prophecy and followed by prophetic interpretation. I, personally, do not think "special" revelation is still occuring. I do think "general" revelation occurs.
