Help!

Not knowing what to do, I took the poor dead thing home with me, and cried all night. They've been looking around all day for it. Should I bury it, take it back and leave it by the bushes, or tell them what happened? I love my boyfriend so much, and I don't want to lose him, but this cat was his baby.

That is horrible! :( Wow that is quite a pickle you got here. Normally I would say just out with it & tell them. But you took it home???!?!?!?!?! What was that about lol! I say bury it and let it go. Nothing good is going to come of telling them. I know it sounds crazy but maybe put a little anonymous note in the mailbox saying you are very sorry & you hit their cat. It was an accident... This advice I have given here is so contrary to what I would normally say or do but YOU TOOK IT HOME!! OMG!! Good luck sweetheart!

This sounds too crazy to be real. But in event it is real, at this point you've really done some crazy and wierd stuff. I think you must know you should have been honest right when it happened, I mean who really picks up the dead cat?? You need to bury it somewhere because its going to start decomposing. I think it should be kept a secret because at this point you would have so much explaining to do, and what you have put them through is more than they can forgive you for. Being honest would have prevented all of this. I'm an animal lover and I can tell you losing a pet and not knowing is terrible, but I also can tell you I wouldn't forgive someone who did this. So keep it a secret and at some point maybe you can buy him another kitten - BUT NOT ANYTIME SOON. If he was as attached as you say, it will take a long time to get over it.

I think your boyfriend should apologise to you. I live in the country too and one day I accidentally ran over a ring tailed possum that ran across the road and I was very upset about it. I accidentally ran over a rabbit one day and I felt bad too. Your boyfriend should try to comfort you not get angry at you for being upset. It doesnt sound like he knows you very well. I dont think you should apologise but i dont think you should let this affect your relationship. I would take it as a lesson, next time you might be able to brake faster or maybe drive slower because you know that animals run across the road. I know how you feel, it doesnt matter what kind of animal it is its still a baby and most people dont like killing baby animals.

What you don't know doesn't hurt you. But if ever finds out......

You say you love him, so you're more than likely spending a lot of time with this guy to build a future between the two of you. So it would be best to tell him. Secrets and lies are not helpful or healty in any relationship.

is that a joke? i was laughing, thank u, it is so funny. but if it is not a joke - i am so sorry, i love cats very much. and i think (this is just my opinion) let the sleeping cats sleep. do not tell them anything. just bury the poor creature

Just replace it with a similar looking cat from the pound. I know it didn't work in "Meet the parents" but it's worth a shot. Hollywood IS fictional, after all.

DO NOT tell them! One thing I've learned about cat lovers, they're borderline insane. I could picture them holding you down while running over you with the car, asking how you like it.

NEVER trust a cat person!

You've already done wrong by STEALING the mangled remains of the cat. You should've said sorry and opt to buy another cat.

you should definitely be upfront and honest about it. it was an accident and im sure they will understand that it was not your intention to hurt their cat. it's kind of weird you took it with you so maybe you should bury it but let them be with you because im sure they want to bury their baby

Honesty is the best policy...can you find another cat at the SPCA that you could pass off as theirs?
