Why are guys on the net so much different than guys who you meet in person? It seems like their are more jerks on the net. Why do some act nuts here? not all but some?

I Personally Think Its Because There Insecure With Them Selves, Its Easy To Be A Big Bad Player "Jerk" When Your Hiding Behind A Computer. I Think They See It As Its Internet Land And They Can Be Whatever Or Who Ever They Want To Be, Its Sad That Most Of Them Choose The Be Jerks.

Its because the guys on the net know that its pretty likely that you wont meet them in person and that you may never bump into them again on the net so they have the freedom to act like pigs. Vice Versa

You're right it does seem like more guys on here are jerks! I think it's because the internet can be a comfortable gathering place for all of society's rejects. My 2 cents =)

In my opinion acting on the net is a way to express yourself to your fullest potential. It expresses his inner personality and not so much his looks. Sometiimes he may bring out his crazy side on the net because he can and won't have a problem if he does it.

Because there are no reprecussions to them, their identity can be secret, if they are offended by you then they just move on and they can be as confident as they want to here, they can be anything, say everything and do nothing if they don't want to.

It's very rare to meet a person online and have them the same way in real life.

The anonymity of the internet leads people to behave differently than they would in person. It is definitely the anonymous nature of these exchanges that lead people down a different path. Sigh.......

Its not just guys. Most everyone takes on a personality to be more like someone they wish they were, instead of who they really are.

They do not have to worry about being called out on their personality face to face as they do in RL.

Girls do the same thing. Don't just pick on guys. Guys may feel the need to seem macho or jerkish, but girls may feel the need to feel sexy or confident. Who we are online is not usually who we are in real life.

Best answer?

Hiding behind a keyboard.

I always suggest first meetings to be at a Starbucks or other public foreground... that way if they ARE weird... you still had a good cup of coffee. ;)

Hiss because of the anonymity that the computer allows.
