are you serious?? 18 is the legal limit to bein a minor!! you are now an adult and are free to make your own choices!!!! i think you need to re check the law because there is NO limit (when you turn 18) on how old someone can be to date them!!! he could be 50 years old and it would still be legal!! and NO your parents can not break you all up? how would they? you need to tell them to back off! and you need to grow up!! if at 18 you are still listening to your parents rules then there is something wrong!(unless you live with them, and even then they have no right to tell you who to date! all they can say is that he cant be in there house!!! ) im not trying to be rude, im just telling you how it is!! good luck! <3

Legally, they cannot do anything to you. Once you are 18 years of age you are an adult and nothing can change that. They are just trying to protect you because they care. Though the age difference is only 8 years, that is more than you realize. Depending on your relationship with him, the difference may not matter at all. Since your parents already at least think he is a good person, give it time. They may warm up to him when they realize he has good intentions.

Yes they can. You are under their wing and supervision/custody, youll be out of the house in notime. It all comes down to rent. If you pay rent, than its your right. If you dont, its not. (thats the law). 26huh? your boyfriend maybe a` Loser.
WTF? Most people say your parents cannot do anything and that your an adult. Right. You may get kicked out even if you pay rent, n be bitter for a while. Worst if things dont work out, going back home would be difficult. Be careful. "26" should ring a bell. Good luck.

Once you reach the age of 18 in most states you can date anyone you wish. The state can not mandate any age for you to date once you reach the age of consent in their state (some states have a younger age of consent and thus can) once you reach 18 you are free to date anyone you like, that doesnt mean the parents have to like it or him. They may be able to make your life difficult (especially if live home) but they really cant keep you from it

When you turn 18, you become an adult in the eyes of the law. You can even get your own place. I married a 29yr ol when I was 19. They can break you up through emotional means though. If your relationship is strong you will prevail.

April at 18 years old you are old enough to make decisions like this on your own. There is nothing that your parents can do legally, morally or any other way.

No, but if you still live with them then I can see them winning this argument. If I still lived at home I would not go against my parents wishes because they feed you, clothe you, give you a roof and probably pay some of your bills. You have a right for sure, but not by your parents.

18 is of consenting age in every state.
You can date a 60 year old if you want...
Not that any of this is a good idea, though...

Look, at 18 you are an adult, and can do what you well please. It is no big deal dating someone 26. Do not let your parents rule your life. They can make suggestions, but you need to do what makes you happy.

Legally they can do nothing. However, if you are still living under their roof rent free you probably should respect their wishes and cool it. If you are out on your own, do whatever you please. The only thing you are not legally of age to do is drink.
