You mean its not a religious question?

With the number of people who worship the show(s) you would almost think so.

Every been to one of the conventions? Scary!!! (And yes I know from first hand experience - more than once)

Favorite: The Original. But then I am old enough to have seen it "first run".

"Trouble with Tribles", of course you cannot beat the original casting and the chemistry between them. The low level of comedy between the principles and apparent love shared between them in mutual concern, were in great part of what made Star Trek the legend it became.

The following series while having the advantage of all the modern technology used in filiming, was very impressive, however all that collection of props did not replace that which took place between Spock, Bones, Scotty, Chechov, Uhura Kirk and Sulu. That made the "blue print" for the whole series.

Of course we can not forget the Big "Star of the show, the Enterprise" it's self. Perhaps only a naval person can relate to the love which is developed for one's ship, on which they have served.

Many may not remeber in the pre advertisement of the upcoming new series......."The Star shipped Enterprise larger then two foot ball fields"

Yes there were other interprises both before and after but there is really only one "Our Enterprise"

Including Janeway automatically renders your opinion on Star Trek irrelevant. Especially in the company of a great, like Picard. And also because you didn't actually answer your own question.
The best series were OS, TNG, and Enterprise. Voyager and DS9 were meandering messes, which is why they didn't get canceled, since networks eat up asinine crap like that.

The original was the best for sure!
The rest were pretty stupid, in my opinion!
I liked "the man trap" episode and several other ones.
I love Captain Kirk, Spock, and McCoy
I like how Spock always said, "Facinating!"

This IS an appropriate question for R&S!

all the out-of-this-world stuff!

I personally liked Enterprise the best but they canceled it. My fav characters were T'Pol & Trip. But I have a huge crush on Scott Bakula. They are coming out with a new Star Trek movie due out in Dec 2008. They actor that playes Skyler in "Heroes" is playing a young Spock.

The Next Generation. Captain Pickard was better than Kirk. Live with it.

I liked Voyager - probably because it was the first one I was able to watch from the start and it had a female Captain.

I also liked Deep Space 9. In the later series it was really quite dark

The Next Generation, no one touches Jean Luc-Picard, no one.

I'm a fan of the original. My favorite episode of all time is City on the Edge of Forever, when Kirk and Spock have to go back to 1930 to retrieve Dr. McCoy, and Kirk falls in love with Edith Keeler, who must die.

Talk about ripping my heart out! Every time I see it, I cry!!!!!!!

McCoy: "JIM! Do you know what you just did???"

Spock: "He knows, Doctor. He knows."

WAAAAAAAAA

Deep Space Nine

It had the more interesting story lines...more developed characters.

You got to know more about Morn (the guy who sat at Quark's bar and said nothing) than you ever got to know about Uhura.
