Don't use flea collars - they don't work and yes, they can cause reactions. Don't use powders or baths either, these are all useless store-bought cheap rubbish that doesn't work.

Get some proper treatment from a vets. Revolution, Frontline and Advantage are all good, and safe. Frontline is probably safest of all because it stays on the skin. It goes on the back of the neck, so it can't be licked off. Just make sure you get the stuff on the cat's SKIN, not the fur, or it won't work.

Flea collars are horrible, and don't do anything for repelling fleas (it only covers the neck, therefore ends up giving the poor cat a chemical reaction to the collar).

Purchase Frontline or Advantage. It's once a month, and helps to kill & repel fleas.

Advantage (drop behind neck) or Program (mthly. pill), collars are dangerous and toxic.
Once had a collar unbeknownst to me until too late, burn the neck flesh of my cat. They should be banned!

Front-line works great. You can try that. You only have to apply it once a month and it goes between the shoulder blades so kitty can't reach it.

Most vets recoment front line. NO mess no fuss lasts for 3 months and works.

Frontline Plus.
Don't waste your money on anything else.
