I think that needs our (Iranians) effort and we can provide a letter and have it signed widely by Iranians every where and then send it to yahoo. Then we can feel a little bit relax that we did our best, however I'm sure that it works!

Seriously, you pose an interesting question. There seem to be no graphics or fonts for the Arabic-style alphabet in general for yahoo. But if there is Chinese and Japanese, plus all sorts of other languages with unique accent marks and letter combinations, it seems unfair for Farsi or Arabic to be left out.
On the political side, it coould be that the imams in Iran who oversee every aspect of daily life are reluctant to allow such excesses for the general population, especially computer users. It could shake up the Achmadinejad government and the entire political and social structure.

I assume there is not enough financial incentive to translate
to Persian.

Do you know a good Persian translator which they can use?

How about just making a Persian search engine?
