Do you REALLY believe that Jesus claimed to be 'God', 'The Son of God' or even a part of the 'Trinity'?

If you do, then which is it? Did Jesus claim to be all three?

Notice that I carry a lot of love and respect for Jesus, and so I definately know that Jesus didn't lie about anything, but I do believe that there's been a misinterpretation about who Jesus really is.

Any explainations?

(My point is not to bash anyone at all, I'm just looking for answers).

B. kovercain- You're right, and that's why I openly say that the bible isn't the original book anymore, if not for anything, then for it being translated litterally into different languages.

I do a lot of comparison on translations myslef, and I see how much can be lost.

There are several verses in Scripture where Jesus says that He and God are one: John 14:9-10 is a good one in particular. (If you're using a computer to look up these type of Scriptures, it's difficult because computers want the exact words from the verses, not just close words. Yes, there are more, but I would have to find a real concordance first.) Jesus also claimed to be God's son in John 10:36. So, yes, I believe in the Trinity in the traditional sense.

Jesus never claimed to be God.

Even in the referenced scripture, by the answers above.

Please notice what Jesus said in John 14: 10 . . . The things I say to YOU men I do not speak of my own originality;

If Jesus was God, then his teachings would have been his.

Jesus said not my will be done, but yours.

What do doctors call people with 'split personalities'?

Jesus on several occations said , "I am God's Son"

Jehovah even said "This is my Son"

The evidence is very clear.

Jesus is the only begotten Son.
Jesus is from his Father, and NOT his Father.

IIRC, according to the Bible, Jesus did say something about being the son of God, and that the Father and His son were One.

The Trinity, though, was a later concept - the first vision of the trinity in the Bible occuring after his death & resurection.

Whether you believe the Bible contains exact quotes, faithfully taken down and translated from Aramaic to Greek to Latin to English without anything being lost, is up to you.

I don't see any place in the Christian scriptures where Jesus claimed to be God. Paul was the one who got in THAT boat and started rowing ;-)

I don't remotely believe Jesus was a deity; the whole idea is absurd to me. I tend to lean toward the speculation that he was a composite of several "messiahs" that lived around the time, especially as there is absolutely no independent corroborating evidence that he even existed.

If he claimed to be God, its cause everyone is God. If he claimed to be the Son of God, its because everyone is the Son of God. If he claimed to be the Holy Spirit, its because everyone is the Holy Spirit. The only difference between him and everyone else is that he realized this totally and completely, and went out to teach others of his revelation.

He said the he forgave sins, so who could do that but God.

He never said it directly. Christians infer it.

But no, I don't believe. I'm not even entirely convinced he existed. If he did, great. I'm sure if nothing else he was a swell guy.
