Here's some lowfat, lower calorie snacks I LOVE! Tip...when getting a snack don't sit down with a whole container. Serve yourself up one palm sized portion and stick to it. That way you won't overeat by plowing through a whole bag/container. Doesn't matter how lowfat or low calorie something is if you eat the whole thing!
Trader Joe's Garlic Hummus and Pita Chips! YUM! Solves my salty, chip craving with half the fat and calories. Again...get yourself a handful and stick to that. Don't eat the whole bag.
Trader Joe's Roasted Almonds - (low salt or Wasabi flavored if you like spicy!) They are packed with energy, protein and really satisfy. Just a handful is all you need to get you over the snack hump.
Sliced Fuji apples and low sugar caramel dip. - You can usually find this dip in the veggie aisle. Just get the reduced sugar one and dip just once per apple slice. So yummy.
Fresh Fruit and Non-fat Cool whip - This stuff rocks for your sweet tooth and you get more fruit in to your diet. It's like desert for me now.
Jello Pudding 100 calorie fat free snack packs - I love the dark chocolate for those period days when I NEED chocolate.
Haagen Daz Frozen Sorbet - The Mango flavor - OMG is to die for!!!!
Whole wheat pretzels - Good for the salty cravings.
Turkey Jerky - Low sodium kinds are best. Great for protein and a quick energy boost. Stick to a few pieces.
Here is the strangest suggestion in the world but I love it. I keep a little baggie of reduced sodium chicken or beef boullion cubes in my purse. Sometimes I need something to give me that warm soothing feeling (like you get from soup). I pop one in some HOT water...let it dissolve fully...and enjoy the broth alone. It helps satisfy you and feels great in a mug warming your hands while you sip on a cold day. Only about 10 calories.
Enjoy!

Those are good snacks, but try to have a little variety. Eating the same thing every day will get boring, so adding a few more things to that list would be a good idea. For example, other healthy options for snacks include fruits (such as berries, grapes, pineapple, kiwi and any other fruit you enjoy), salads without dressing, broth-based soups, lowfat or light yogurt and hummus with veggies. I hope that these ideas have helped you, and good luck with your weight loss.
