I don't believe that at all. I can not imagine that the fire and brimstone return of Christ is ever going to happen. I once heard a Rabbi say that, when the world is ready for the messiah, we won't need one.

I think that the "lord" is here already, within you. If you meditate and chant and try to let go of the illusory thoughts and forms that make up this world then each person will achieve the kingdom that exists already within them. If everyone in the world were to make this effort then the Rabbi would be right, we wouldn't need a messiah.

This tendency that so many people have of looking outside of themselves to make the world a better place is what go us in this mess from the start. Gandhi said we should BE the change we want to see in the world.

Be here now.

Well,
That question may be moot. I mean, according to Rev. 13. the Beast is able to make war against the church of God and "overcome" it. So, we that believe will die before He comes anyways. Or, at least most of us will. Around that time the Mark of the Beast will appear for buying and selling. Most of the world will be non-Christ lovers anyways.
But, don't let that trouble you. Life is not a guarantee, nor, for that matter, is eternal life.
The Aztex Calendar ends in December, 2012. That is the time that the indicate this entire world will go through a change.
I hope that helps.

if you are speaking of the "proficy" in The Revelation of Jesus Christ, ive got bad news for you: the popular modern interpretation of this scripture is drastically wrong. the reason its not called "The Revelation of Human Kind" or "The Revelation of the Worldy Believers" is because its NOT about that! if you read carefully, its about what happens to Jesus before and while he ascends WITHIN HIS OWN MIND. It is the path to enlightenment, trancendence of the physical world and everlasting peace for each person who wishes to follow in his footsteps. Jesus was a man who broke the barrier between man and God, and he left us a blueprint. "The world" is not ending, but you can end "the world" by following the blueprint and return to the existence before the fall, splintering and seperation from Oneness.

The Lord is not coming to us, we are going to meet Him, in heaven.
Jesus has never left us, He is in spirit, only those in the spirit (dead) can see him or His kingdom.

check the ring of fire and the increasing "birth pangs" and worldwide massive earthquakes every week.

for the pathetically uneducated, Jesus said the end generation started in 1948 or with the planting of the Fig Tree/israel, until then there was no end generation and he was NOT speaking to the generation which he was living in.

hopefully i'll be around to see the end of it all.

Tell me this isn't today's MTV generation to a T?

2Ti 3:1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

or this one:

For in the last days there shall come scoffers walking after their own LUSTS saying WHERE IS THE PROMISE OF HIS COMING? FOr all has remained the same since the fathers fell asleep/thousands of years...but beloved be NOT IGNORANT of this one thing, that a day with the lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day, the Lord is NOT slack concerning his promise as MEN Count slackness, but is longsuffering usward NOT willing that ANY/even maggots should come to REPENTENCE!! 2 Peter 3.

People have been assuming so ever since Jesus was alive...in fact, he told people in his direct audience (the people standing in front of him when he spoke) that it would happen in their lifetimes, and we all saw how true that was. Go ahead and believe the world's end is imminent if you want....you'll still be thinking so on your deathbed.
