You really do need to read something other than the bible. The only reason for the Viet Nam war was to open up the opium trade from Southeast Asia to the US, as run by George Bush and the Cia. It really is documented. The reason George invaded Panama was not because Noriega was running drugs, it was because he was putting too high a premium on them. If was to stop drugs, why did drug traffic double within 6 months of Noriega being removed, again documented. If George Shrub didn't have anything to do with 9-11 why was it that aircraft were off course for more thanan hour and it is a standing policy that when aircraft go off course for more than 10 minutes and do not respond fighter aircraft are scrambled. The only person who could ground those aircraft is the head of the joint chiefs and the president. Gosh, lets look at the evidence as to why I am against the military and am a liberal. And it is people like you and george Shrub that are ruining this country.

San Francisco is a beautiful and tolerant city. In addition, there are military recruitment centers there, so I'm not sure why you're trying to imply otherwise. And then you top it off by asking if the military shouldn't protect San Francisco. Additionally, there are many churches in San Francisco and many who are religious. Guess they're just not your type of Christian, thank goodness.
By attacking all liberals and atheists you do a misjustice to the ones who have served their country. Some of them have died to protect YOUR rights, too.

I have yet to meet a single atheist who is againt the military. Not to say they don't exists but whatever.
I am Left leaning Liberal and I am hard core supporter of the military. I also at one time had a permit to carry and I am a damn good shot. The only reason I don't still carry is I have kids. I was raised a marine daughter. Once a marine, always a marine. So for your efforts I will generalize you that you must be just like the other crazies.
edit: Actually come to think about it, every atheist I know has SERVED in the military. Have you? They are dying for your right to be narrow minded and pushy. Way to back them up.

No. Evidence. For. Gods.
How inflammatory was that?
I support human liberties. I oppose war unless necessary. I'm a Libertarian (conservative leaning). And I think people are free to do as they want. It's a lack of education that makes people "weak," and your question is an obvious demonstration. But don't worry -- now that the religious right has more influence in government, I plan to vote liberal as the lesser of two evils. Congrats.

I think about 90% or more of atheists are liberal on social issues. Obviously, most social issues are battles between religious superstition versus science and reason. The flaming homosexual rallies would not be what they are if conservatives would just ignore them instead of egging them on. These people are used as straw men to attack moderate liberals like me who could not give two bleeps about gay marriage.
On all the other issues though, you see a wide range of opinions amongst atheists. Lots of libertarians. Personally I lean to the left primarily because I think corporations are starting to buy the government. This is not what the founding fathers intended and it is getting out of hand. It is now clear that we were knowingly manipulated into going into an ill conceived war by a small group of idealogues. This is a travesty to everything America stands for. Talk radio and cable news and the major media supported it all from the beginning, distorting information and condemning anyone who dissents as unpatriotic.
I think we also need a healthcare overhaul. Our healthcare system is not just corrupt, it is immoral. It's not a matter of money it;s a matter of basic morality- coming from an atheist.
I am sickened by right wing talk radio AND left wing talk radio. I don't agree with the WAY they argue set aside WHAT they argue. The fake sensationalized McMedia of talk radio and cable news is harming our political discourse and turning it into sleazy, empty, meaningless rhetoric and staged outrage. It's about pure commercialism. People are being fed crap information by profiteers.

Anti military ? What a great imagination . I was in the Army in early 1940 in Hawaii . After the attack , I was sint to Christmas Island . From there I came back to Benning for a commission . I fought in the infantry from France 'till we met the Russians coming the other way in Czechoslovakia .After the war ended , I remained in Europe in the Military Government for two more years .
In my seven and a half years , I never took a leave , or even a three day pass . It was mud , blood , and slaughter every day.
Now i learn that because I don't believe in religious fairy tales, I'm anti-military. Thank you so very much .

You don't seem very happy with America. You know that you're welcome to move to a place more to your liking.
As for my political leanings, I believe that we have the right to bear arms, I do not support affirmative action, and I believe that it would very probably be a mistake to withdraw quickly from Iraq. I am a capitalist: I believe that accumulations of wealth produce additional opportunities for wealth.
I do not buy the "all soldiers are heroes, bravely defending our freedoms" propaganda any more, though. I am not anti-military, and I will gladly point out that the military and ex-military personnel who take my classes are typically well-above-average students. However, I think that the "support our troops" movement is a thinly-veiled attack on Americans, and I'm not willing to pretend otherwise.
I also firmly believe that fundamentalist religion is a far bigger threat to the United States than is homosexuality. Roy Moore and 9/11 should make that pretty danged obvious.

Sorry, but I'm gonna blow up your prejudices.
I've almost always voted either Republican or Libertarian. I even voted for Bush in 2000. You know why? Because I'm economically conservative. I just overlook the fundie wing of the party.
In 2004, I voted Libertarian, because I couldn't stomach what Bush had done to the GOP and to the country. I'm not anti-military, but I *am* against using our military to launch illegal, unjustified invasions of other nations. Our military should be for self-defense. Period.
I'm against the death penalty and all wars except those of self-defense. I'm also a vegetarian and I recycle. There's my liberal side for you. I'm also pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, anti-affirmative action, and pro-low taxes. There's my conservative side. As for gays, I don't really care what consenting adults choose to do with each other. There's my libertarian side.
I kind of like that whole "Thou Shalt Not Kill" thing, and I try to live it as much as I can. Ditto the Golden Rule.
For what it's worth, I see far more "inflammatory remarks" coming from Christians around here than I do from atheists.

How can radical homosexuals ruin a city?
Just how many homosexuals - radical or otherwise are they in San Francisco?
How are they weakening the USA?
Are they interfering in any way to the way your country is run politically or in military matters?
Perhaps lack of education and will-full ignorance is what is weakinging the USA...
I am not American & I am not gay, but I need to see this place for myself - What time of year is good to visit San Francisco?

This is a new one for you. I'm a Buddhist and believe that all people should be treated lovingly and with respect. What you're talking about has nothing to do with politics. It sounds like it came straight from the mouth of Rush Limbaugh. San Francisco is beautiful. If you don't like it, don't go there. I don't support violence and I also don't support an illegal war but I DO respect anyone who signs up for military service. I wish our men and women were not being put in jeopardy for false reasons. That is not liberal that is logical. If I had to pin myself down I'd say I'm a human being and I have an open heart. Why is that so bad?
