Germany does not have nuclear weapons. US, UK, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, N. Korea. South Africa, Ukraine, Belarus, and a few of the "stans" used to have nuclear weapons but gave them up.

The strategy behind the weapons—a strategy oddly known as mutually assured destruction (MAD).
We must consider that anyone can have atomic capabilities if they really want to do that type of thing. Next we must consider who would use this capability ... There's the rub! Really religious people should be our first suspects. They believe so strongly in their religion that they would kill themselves and so go to heaven when the bomb is exploded. Even if these people don't explode the bomb themselves, the result would be about the same ... mutually assured destruction.
When we vote for President, do we want a hot head, do it alone type person? That could be MAD! We need a President who can make mature, adult decisions ... not a bully! No good military commander would commit all of his power to a losing situation. Good tactics mandate exploitation of success, not failure.

You may be missing many, like Pakistan who name their bomb as an Islamic bomb. Now, do you think that israel really needs an Atom Bomb? They are a nation who never attacked any others, they are a small nation, they only defend themselves from offenders, and why should they need an atom bomb at all? If such requirement arises, every Jew could become an atom bomb!!!!

Youre missing Pakistan, France maybe Italy. We strongly suspect that Israel has the bomb, but don't have public verification.
Korea is not a foregone conclusion either. North Korea that is. South Korea does not.

Pakistan and France for sure. Israel in all likelihood does. South Africa did belong to the nuclear club, but with the change in ownership a while back, they supposedly divested themselves of any weapons.

Israel has atomic weapons, hence Iran wants them.
The only difference is Iran is stupid enough to use them just on a whim...
