The Leatherman folding knives are excellent too. I sell them as well as Leatherman Multi-Tools in my Gun Shop, and carry one myself. They are extremely well made and with minimal care will last you a lifetime..Just like the Buck........

I found that buck knives take a good edge, but don't hold it very well, and the handle is too small for my hands. I too have a leatherman "wave" multitool and swear by it. I'm ordering a leatherman folding knife this weekend.

I use Leathermans and Bucks....both are good quality brands. My Leatherman is harder steel, so it hold and edge longer but harder to sharpen. The Buck loses its edge faster but just a few swipes on a stone every once in a while and it does fine. Personally I would just find the one that fits my needs and budget.
