Dear sweet kind helpful ATHEISTS - I need your help - you guys are always so logical and reasoned; I have FAITH - faith in GOD, faith in JESUS CHRIST - but even though I know I believe, even though I know I have faith, even though I know I am saved, just as sure as I know you are damned - I still can't prove that my faith even exists?!? There is just not enough solid concrete evidence....

Can you help me?!?

Be careful, my ignorant and clumsy friends.

When you start saying my beliefs and my feelings do not require any proof, you are treading on very thin ice.

Oh, you athesists are so easily fooled!

Bocas - the fact that you knew I was talking about you specifically when I mentioned those in general who were damned, pretty much answers your own question now, doesn't it?

You and your Christian "love" are a shining example of the true nature of Christianity. I have seen your posts and your words represent to me exactly what I think Christianity is about, HATE AND IGNORANCE.

I wonder if your fellow Christians are proud to have you among them.

It's a low enough claim so why would you need proof beyond the claim itself? All that you're claiming is that you believe something. By any standard that requires almost no proof at all. People believe all manner of things so it's not a very absurd claim at all. I believe I have some change in my pocket. I believe my fingers are cold. Did you need proof that I believe those things?

----

"When you start saying my beliefs and my feelings do not require any proof, you are treading on very thin ice."

But that isn't what you asked is it? You asked specifically about faith and not could your beliefs themselves be proved. Sorry you don't get to reword the question after the answer.

Faith is belief and not the thing you believe in. Saying you believe something is proof enough for a claim so minor.

Can I help you? Why, yes I can. First I recommend courtesy.

As to proving what you actually believe, well no. I can't see how I could do that. I could use the evidence at hand to make a judgment. I could observe how you act. I could measure the likelihood of your being truthful when you say you have a faith. From these things I could form an informed judgment of what you think. That is rather what I have done concerning the possibility of the supernatural.

The fact of the matter is that neither side, theologists or logical philosophers (atheists included), can absolutely prove or disprove their positions through the use of pure logic. In the end, and I mean death, one side will have an answer or the other will have their justification. If there is in fact actual theological "salvation" the believers will, in effect, win. If not, then those who have reasoned that such is the case will have been correct - of course it will have little consequence to those of us still living. By the same token, the "believers" will have risked nothing but possibly gained whatever they believed after-life brings.

I can sure prove faith in the FLying Spaghetti Monster - ain't people eating his body once in a while? :)

Either you think you don't need help (why are you worshipping a god then?), either you need help (ha!) but are beyond any help (and gods are irrelevant).

any fool can beleive what they do... if you don't require proof, how many people today get ripped off because they have blind faith... even in other people... wether it's a contractor, plumber, wedding planner... priest that moslest children... preachers living it up with hookers... and molesting children... what ever it is you can chose to be a fool.... We can't help those who refuse to see the light... so when your god doesn't come and there is no heaven in sight, and your rotting corps just lays there like everyone else... then will that be proof enough for you? will that finally be enough for you to see the fool you were? for satan will call himself god of the earth and will decieve many... you read it you preach it yet you go on as if you are imuned to it... religion is a con... and only cons need blind faith to keep going on.

Faith exists as a human idea, rooted in the mind. It's the creation of meaning in the absence of evidence, by believing in an extrinsic reality that does not operate on natural laws (the supernatural).

As a human idea and product of a thinking mind, it ceases to exist after death. It's a willingness to believe, after all, not the thing believed in.

Tell me if you still believe in a hell or in petty religious rules after watching this video simulation of 20 million galaxies, a small part of our observable universe. If there is a god, it's far more ancient and complex than any religion has ever attempted to define, and it doesn't threaten people with simplistic fire pits or petty "convert to Jesus or burn" ultimatums:

http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=1084757813&fr=yfp-t-501

Each dot on this graph is a galaxy made up of billions of stars and trillions of planets. It's the most accurate simulated model to date, covering billions of light years in distance, and shows small part of our universe. If you're sincerely interested in analyzing your perspective, not merely confirming it, then you're open enough to see this video. If not, then we are both wasting our time.

Now tell me why I should deny the beauty and elegance of this universe to believe that a god would be reducible to a male human who bleeds and requires faith without confirmation? To break off the complexity of our reality into simple rules is arrogant, but to ask sincere questions is a very humbling experience.

The existence of God is too evident to need any arguments. Some saintly scholars have stated that God Himself is more manifest than any other being, but those who lack insight cannot see Him. Others have said that He is concealed from direct perception because of His Self-manifestation's intensity.

However, the great influence of positivism and materialim on science humanity makes it necessary to discuss such arguments. This way of thinking reduces existence to what can be directly perceived and thereby blinds itself to the invisible dimensions of existence, which are far more vast than the visible. Since we must strive to remove the veil drawn by materialism and positivism, we will review briefly some of the traditional demonstrations for God's necessary existence.

extra around good judgment from a "desire to be" christian. If I had "faith" that your god did not exist then it would validate ,with the aid of your good judgment, that it does not exist basically as you assume that your faith proves it is life. faith demands no evidence nor validation because of the fact it is a faith and in basic terms a faith. It demands in basic terms the dedication of the believer and not something extra. If there grow to be certainly validation or evidence then it would quit to be a theory or a faith yet connect the ranks of theories and technology. who's owned? Atheists don't think yet "be attentive to", via good judgment, technology and study, that there are not any gods. not one of the over 3 hundred created with the aid of mankind have or ever would be shown and maximum have already been decreased to lore, legend and myth. in basic terms "desire to be" christians and agnostics seek for or attempt to furnish evidence of their gods. think of roughly it!

Faith is a feeling, not matter. Therefor it only exists in your mind. You can't take it out and lock it in a box. Just like all feelings (ie happiness, sadness) faith can be mapped out as synopses and such in the brain. That is as much "proof" as science can give you right now. But the cool thing about science, is that it is always learning more.
