I have been really low for a good year or so now. But I'm not constantly low. Sometimes I will be really happy and energetic, and then other times I will be just down, lethargic, and not really interested in anything. There have been times where I have even lost interest in my favorite hobbies. Like I said, I have been dealing with this for over a year now, but I'm not sure. I guess there are some things that I can blame it on, including the following: no friends at school, no friends coming around anymore, never having a girlfriend, making less than spectacular grades. I find myself often times beating myself up mentally, I call myself ugly, and I consider myself worthless. I also think of myself as a waste. I feel like I am a person taking up precious air for someone else. Please provide some insight into this.

I am so sorrry that you are feeling this way. I have been feeling the same way for years and I know how hard it is. Remember that you are not worthless, I am sure that you are not ugly either, you just have some self esteem issues. Can you talk to a parent about this? Maybe some anti depressants can help you. Try to join a group of some sort so you can make some friends. I made a good friend and it really helps. My husband always tells me that I need to love myself, its hard but it does makes sense! I wish you all the best and hope that you start feeling better! Hugs!! : )

I would say you have a slight depression, which can be easily changed around. If its you appearance by new cloths. if you don't have a job get one and this will also keep your mind occupied. If your grades are low then challenge yourself to get on the honor roll which will also occupy your time and less thinking on how many friends you have. If your hobbies are boring, then find new ones. Love to enjoy yourself and being alone and others will want to be with you afterwards. But you must first love yourself and doing things alone. then the next time you have a conversation about something fun you did over the weekend maybe someone will want to join you. Maybe even a girl.

Hi...
I'm sorry you're going through this... and i hope you will find there are a lot of resources out there for help and support.
You could try doing a yahoo search for DEPRESSION FORUMS (where you can post and meet people who have similar issues), or you could search for DEPRESSION SELF HELP.
You can also visit your doctor and let him or her know what you've been going through. Depression is very common and doctors deal with depressed patients every day. If your doctor feels the need to make a referral, they will.
You could also do a search for SELF ESTEEM SELF HELP. You are a unique idividual and im' sure you have many talents and good characteristics.
taking care of YOU is the first step in starting to feel better... hugs

It's time to make a change!
Change the books you read, the shows you watch, the games you play- but most importantly- the attitude you project.
Everyday in everyway I'm getting better and better.
Repeat it every morning and night as many times as you need to so that your mind believes it!
If you build it, he will come!
A line from a simple movie says it all- you get what you give- if you build a gun you'll get war, if you build a garden you'll get flowers. If you think positive, positive things will happen.
Try it- what have you got to lose?

I'm no doctor, but you should try changing your diet and exercising! It worked wonders for me, when you get on a regular exercise regimen, and you give your body good wholesome foods, it completely changes your body chemistry, and effectively does what most anti depressants do! Please it's a confidence booster when you see results (weight loss, muscle gain) The problem most people have is getting jump started, because usually their depression prevents them from wanting to do anything physical. :-) Intense cardio will also releve stress, and help you sleep better! It can make your entire life do a 180 without taking any drugs. Good luck. :-)

yes it is a form of depression but its due to lack of confidence in yourself. It is no one to blame but yourself. As you think so u become and know that only you can make yourself feel the way you want to. Its all in your mind. A situation can be changed by how u think of it. All it takes is faith, confident and a change in the way you think. No one can tell you what to think and how to feel, thats totally up to you unless you give a person authority to bring you down or make you sad. My advice as soon as these negative feelings make its way into your mind stop it before it gets the beter of you,, find something to do or just pray or meditate to keep your mind at ease.

You sound pretty depressed to me. I couldn't diagnose you but I would think it is either bipolar or some form of repeated depressive states. It may not be a chemical unbalance, it could just be your situation. I would try and talk to a professional. If you attend college it's free to see a counselor. There are other options too though.

I would talk to your doctor. You might have maniac depression. It is where you go from feeling low to a natural high and back down. This can happen out of the clear blue. But if I were you I would talk to my doctor.
