marcus, i can tell you where I stand....

i stand in the way when people want to introduce theology, and philosophy concepts into a science class...

go stand on your corner, just dont require that i listen to your stories in order to be a functioning member of society....people of religion have tried this before....

Why is it that you assume someone who would stand on a sidewalk preaching his or her beliefs is crazy? It takes a great deal of self-confidence and courage to stand up in front of a crowd or to knock on someone's door to share the gospel.

Once upon a time, people actually stood up for what they believed in. Today, people are so afraid of offending someone or embarrassing themselves, that they stand up for nothing. They sit quietly by, complaining about the world around them but doing nothing to try to improve it. Perhaps there should be more people out there on the sidewalk wearing signs. At least you know where they stand.

If you are talking about "rabid" Christians when you say "those crazy guys on the sidewalks wearing signs" then I'm sure that some of the Christians on here resemble them.

That being said.... There are many people on here who are as fanatical about their position as ANY Extremist Christian (with the possible exception of Fred Phelps and family -- who do not actually meet the criterion of Christian behaviour in my mind)

Because they there is anonymity people will say and propose questions that they would not normally propose, post, or ask. So they use this as a sounding board for their cowardice, weirdness and to exploit those who don't have a clue.....

If they are standing on the corner, you can pass them by! On here, it is like they are on EVERY corner, and grabbing hold of you, and not letting go, while yelling in your ear!

PLEASEEEEEESE
That is just too much in my space! And I can be here, too!
