I have seen lots of pekes born naturally. Less than 20% need a section. Same with frenchies. I have seen all the litters that come in except one deliver natural. Of course they aren't that popular here, so we are talking maybe 4-5 litters. I am not sure about English bulldogs. Sometimes the Moms who care just set up an automatic section. But I am sure there are others who don't do a lot of prenatal or vet care who let theirs be born naturally.

I have a English Bulldog, and her breeder said more often than not they have c sections. If you plan on breeding bulldogs be prepared to stay with the mom 24/7 when they are born because they aren't the greatest mothers. They're a bit lazy and will lay on the pups which obviously would suffocate them. The breeder I got mine from had a couple other people that would take shifts in making sure she didn't lay on her pups. That cured me from ever wanting to let mine have a litter.

I am not sure about ever, but I know with English Bulldogs. They should not be allowed to try to give birth naturally. There is a very high risk a pup will get hung up in the birth canal, because the pups heads are to big to fit through their narrow birth canal. I would consider anyone who tried to allow one to give birth naturally a bad owner and a horrible breeder. It is safest to do a scheduled c-section, and much cheaper and less risky that an emergence c-section.

Most, if not all Bulldogs (no such thing as an "English" Bulldog, officially http://www.akc.org/breeds/bulldog/index.cfm ) must have C sections. Most French Bulldogs do as well, though I've heard of exception.

Naturally, there are exceptions, but the vast majority are born via c-section.
Many require AI for conception also.
