You have some very good answers here, I think you should see your Doctor and have your ear(s) cleaned, but in the meantime you can use hydrogen peroxide (don't dilute with water) tilt your head to the right and pour 1/3 cap full of it into your ear, if your ear has a lot of wax in it, it will start bubbling and slightly tickle a little, keep your head tilted and let the hydrogen peroxide disolve the wax for 10 min. repeat this again. This should make a considerable differance in your hearing if wax buildup is the problem but make an appointment with your Doctor for futher evaluation of your problem.

depends on several things, could be the noises you are hearing are caused by an inner ear infection in which case some drops or antibiotics may be the answer.
there could be something in your ear, or your ear may just need syringing as the tube is full of wax.
if you have recently listened to something loud you could have damagd you ear and to noises that are being make couldbe the sound of a particular frequency that has been damaged in your ear, once that goes you will never be able to hear that frequency again.
best advice is go see a doctor

Is it more of a dull tone, or does it have more variety? Does it sound like anything you recognize?
If you haven't checked with the doctor, I would do that first, as it could be something stuck in your ear (likely wax), which should be easy to get out, but it could be an ear infection. I've had my share of both of those, so I know what it feels like.
If it's not that, it's possible it's damage to your ear drum itself. Listening to loud music or having a loud noise in your ear could do enough damage to cause that (I have a dull ringing in my ear at times because of that).
However, if it's something else that's more recurring (like sounding like voices or music), it could be something else.

And that explains why my cousin cannot hear well now
because of the extremely loud music he used to have in
his car! (to sunflower)
My husband has had ringing in his ears for a long time.
Edit-
He just informed me it started when he worked at
a very noisy industrial plant for 15 years. He told me there
is nothing he can do about it except take these certain
vitamins for the ringing and they help some. Here is a
web site for ears ringing.

If you hear a ringing in your ear, that is hearing sells dying. That's probably why you can't hear as well with that ear.
That is also why you will hear ringing in your ears after listening to something extremely loud. Loud noises cause some of your hearing cells to die.

You may have wax or an infection in that ear so you need to go see a doctor that specialist in ears.

ask your mom if you was born with a birth defect. if not, ask the doctor if you have anything in your ear you should have. it also can be water so when you take a bath or a shower, make sure your ears aren't submerged.
