Do you believe our earth is going to end itself eventually or that a god/goddess will end it? Or is this belief primarilly reserved for Christianity and Islam?

No, this is not a belief reserved for the Abrahamic faiths.

To many Hindus, we're in the age of the Kali Yuga, which, like all ages before it, will end in time and a new age will begin. Similarly, to some Hellenic Polytheists ("Greek pagans"), we're in the Hesiodic Bronze Age, which will also end in time and a new age will begin.

I'm sure other faiths have their own beliefs, but I'm an HP who puts a lot of weight in the writings of Hesiod, and my lover is a Hindu convert, so that's the only two (aside from growing up Catholic) that I know about. Of course, to be fair, many modern Pagans, "New Age", reconstructed or what have you (this includes many other HP's), seem to simply believe that if this "age" of the world is to end, then so be it -- we can preserve this age as much as we can, but most Wiccans and other pagans (including HP's) that I've talked to about this seem to have a "whatever will be, will be" kind of attitude, and make no attempt to proclaim to "know" or believe when or if this age/world will end, and simply maintain that we should seek fulfilment in this life/our lives that doesn't inhibit the pursuit of fulfilment for the next generation.

The earth will continuously under go ecological changes causeing the death of certain beings and the rise of others, eventually the environment will be unsutable for anything an the earth will be considered dead (look at mars and venus they were both suspected to have large oceans at one time) that is unless natural disaster (by coincidence) destroys this planet. A huge asteroid could posibly break us up and send us into the depths of cold space, or an exploding sun would cook us all in a big earth sized oven, however it is also possible that we develop deep space travel and the life that arose with the earth is no longer tied to its fate, maybe we should fund NASA better. when life here ceases to exist, so will the gods we created

Wouldn;t it be scientific fact that someday the sun will give out? We can;t live here forever.

AS a christian, I believe that God will have some role in the end of the human race. The bIble talks about the earth burning up althgouh no detail are given concerning teh scientific process.

The world will end. Our lives will end. The bigger question is will we be ready? I believe there is a owrl dto come and we need to preare for that one which will not end.

The Gods aren't going to destroy the Earth. In about 500 to 700 million years, the temperature on the planet Earth will have become "too hot for the survival of life as we know it". So in 4 to 5 billion years when the Sun goes Red Giant on us, your ancestors won't have that much to worry about, assuming of course that the human race didn't cause itself to become extinct and we were able to perfect space travel and are able to build ships large enough to house a human civilization.

I believe that the PLANET Earth has a lifespan and that has been determined. The only things that are immortal are the Gods themselves, no matter how They are personified.

The Greeks called the Gods "Athanoi" (Deathless). Gaia the Goddess and Protogoni is Athanoi even if the planet She is identified with has a lifespan. The things the Gods govern which are abstract (like Wisdom and Justice) are as undying as the Gods.... even if the material world is not.....

When it's time comes, the earth will die, just like everything in the universe. I don't believe this planet is reserved for specific religious people. We belong to the earth, not the other way around.

Nothing is forever and it has nothing at all to do with any god. Of course the world will end eventually. It just won't be any time soon. Likely it will be when the sun supernovas. Considering the sun is only about halfway through its life span, I'd say we have at least 5 billion years, give or take a billion.

What the others said about the sun ending in 5 billion years... but we'll all be somewhere else by then, going about our space business.

I don't believe in endings. Change, yes. Endings, no. That's just an artificial stopping point.

I do believe that the humankind might eventually destroy the world, through war or over pollution.

I don't believe some magic guy in the sky is going to come down and smite us all, as punishment for anything, but humanity could bring about our own destruction at our own hands.

The earth will end when the sun enters its red giant stage about 4 billion years hence.
