Hey my friend gets an e-mail that lets him know when swells are coming through. I am a fla surfer so i need it for the east and west coast. does anyone know where i can sign up for the e-mail?

Surfline has a free surf alert email system. It will also send a weekly forecast for your region, although it is not super detailed.
There may also be some other subscription services in Florida. Dig around on surfguru and see if you can find one.

I think surfline has something like that, but you may have to pay for premium membership. why not ask your friend where his comes from?

http://www.surfrider.com has ways of getting surf reports for you, they also help you to protect where you surf.
