i want to disable mcafee for a short time to download a program how can i do this?

used to be ya just right click and turn it off now i can't find anything

Right click on the McAfee icon in the tray. That should open a dialog box. Look through the options to see if there is a way to disable the virus scan. After you download the program you may need to reboot to get McAfee running again.

goto Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services

Look for McAfee and stop the service, when you are done, start it back.

You can turn the firewall off.
Just don't forget to turn it back on.
