I know this will sound odd, but my grandfather had a nail fungus and didn't want to take the pills that the doctor wanted to prescribe for the condition. Grandma talked him in to using a metholated rub, like Vicks Vap-o-rub. He massaged some on to each toe, then all over his feet each night before bedtime. Grans decided even if it didn't get rid of his nail fungus, his feet felt cool when he went to bed, which he said was a good feeling after being on his feet all day at work. Grans did this religiously every night, after a couple of weeks, he noticed his nails were getting softer and not so yellowish and thick...new healthier nails were growing out. The Vap-o-rub also made Grans awful foot odor go away. Grans still does his "Vapo" thing every night because he likes the cooling effect on his feet and the effect it had on his snaggly toenails that has completely gone now. For some, the down side is the metholated smell, but if you do this treatment at night, the metholated smell disspates by morning. It's worth a try. The pills require liver function tests periodically, which can be expensive. Even a BIG jar of Vicks Vap-o-rub is way less expensive than liver function blood tests!

Toenail fungus is one of those illnesses that doctors don't have a good cure for.

There is an oral medication that can be taken for several months that SOMETIMES will eradicate the fungus. It has a lot of side effects include potential liver injury so the risks and the benefits need to be carefully weighed with your doctor.

Some folks opt to have the nail removed entirely by the podiatrist.

You're not alone, I have it also. On my fingernails as well. However, I can't get access to most of these ingredients because I'm in a pretty corrupted country, where you can't find much, not even medicine. I also don't know the local language/Russian very well. :(

I have it too. My foot doctor says he can prescribe pills but I will need to do liver function test because medication can damage liver. I elected to live with fungus.

You could find cremes to put on at night in almost any drug store. But if you are unable to find any take a wash cloth and rub bleach on your toe nails every night. Then wash your feet after wards

Short of going to the doctor, I would try a dilute bleach solution.
