Not sure what you can do to Bush - cause he just passed. But I think any driver that gives up a place at the finish line should be fined and penalized. Never really liked team mates letting others lead a lap, but this is about 100 time worse, IMO.

Anyway, if your going to do it, shouldn't be this blatant about it on the radio.

I don't like it. I think each driver should earn their own spot. Whats the point of "racing" if you are just getting the spots? I don't think that Kyle asked for it, but I just hate hearing some drivers get all angry because others don't just give them the spots. what happened to earning the spot??!

Remember the year that Roush had a bunch of cars at the front and they all "rotated" as leader for the 5 bonus points? No one made a fuss and it was considered just something you did as "teammates". There have been times teams who were just friendly with each other helped each other out for 5 points leading a lap.

Is it fair? I guess it depends on the definition of fair... is it legal and within the rule book? Maybe better asked, like the whole COT testing thing.... is it IN the rule book? What about Jr. driving the #5 car this year to score points for Hendrick after Busch left the track? Or when a couple of drivers have gotten burned over the years and after starting the race had a fill in or replacement driver so they could score points but didn't really have to drive most of the race at all?

What is fair in NASCAR? What about when teammates block for each other? Or draft with each other? Or don't race their teammates like they would any other driver?

What if next year NASCAR says only one driver per team? LOL Then what? Would that be the answer?

There is nothing illegal about it. They are points racing and Mears isn't in the CHASE so.. All in all I some-what agree w/ the strategic plan but I don't know if I could do it. If I were Mears, I'd be a little upset about having to give up a Top-5 finish . That sucks for him.

Letting someone on your team have a spot isnt all that bad, not really. When they pull a tape from a driver that is relating to him blocking someone or telling him to do something to another driver or something I will care. If Yeley is told on the radio to block the leaders so that Stewart and Hamlin can catch back up then its time to start docking people, or if Mears is told to block people so that Gordon or Johnson can catch up.

I know F1 has rules that if its proven that there is some kind of stunt where that happens, both drivers get punished (after the Schumacher/Barichello incidents in Austria and USA). There are ways around it however ("Let him go, his car is faster")

If that really is the proof, NASCAR should do something about that, as it is pretty much fixing a race just to give a driver a better position.

Some of you folks are a bit naive...A point guard shaving points is nothing like what they did. That would be giving the advantage to the other team. Its not unusual in basketball for the team to feed a particular teamate to help them get to a milestone or record.
Next you'll be saying they shouldn't be drafting partners for each other.....

hi with "Kyle's a grimy driving force"? hes there to do a job its suggested as win the race, I dont see the place he's any worse than the numerous different drivers and wrecking. ya im specific some is intentional yet each and every friggin driving force has accomplished that quicker or later in time.

Personally I think they should both be docked, and then whoever directed the team order should be fined, on the basis of throwing an event. If a pitcher threw a poor game on purpose in baseball, or a point guard shaved points in a basketball game, they would be subject to great disciplinary action.

Discipline should be handed down.

That really stinks, but that's the kind of crap that's been going on in Formula 1 for years. Team orders ruin racing!!!

KevinP is right on.
Just wait until a non chase car doesn't give way to a chase car at Homestead!!!
Nascar will move the non chase car out of the way, but we will never hear about it!
That is worse than team orders!
