even though I cut so much off, I still have split ends! What can I use on my hair to help protect it from the heat styling so I can prevent further split ends. I will get regular trims and I just bought the Tigi ego boost split end mender.

nothing can repair a split end. some shampoos and conditioners make them a little less noticeable or try to glue it back together, but you can always tell a split end by looking at it. heat styling is extremely damaging to your hair...espeically straightening. if you keep doing it your hair will look like straw. you can use heat protectants, but over time the heat will destory your hair anyway. you cant repair damage already done. try using a blow dryer (not much better) or wear your hair up as much as possible...deep condition, use hot oil treatments, and dont wash it every day. your hair growth will be stunted if you overprocess it, so try to wear your hair natural as much as possible. oh, and straighteners from walmart and target are crap..invest in a chi or sedu. its worth it. good luck

As a stylist Ill be honest with you the TIGI Ego Boost will not work for your hair. It does not fix split ends or prevent them. Depending on how often you straighten your hair, you need to be doing deep conditioners at least once a week. And a professonal deep conditioner. You also need a deep moisture shampoo and conditioner. Matrix Biolage Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioning Balm. To protect your hair Paul Mitchell Heat Seal works good and Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide works awesome. But with that you have to be kinda careful. Dont get it on the scalp cause it will make it oily.

I've layers and i'm kinda on the fence about them. I love having them within the front just a little bit, however while you get to the middle of you head and you have got pieces which can be asx quick as your ears, then it can be an excessive amount of. I have lovely lengthy hair (about 5 inches earlier my shoulder) and that i still are not able to put it right into a braid considering it all comes out. But I do have very thick hair, so that might also be part of it. While you straighten your hair, the layers kink rather a lot turbo (I dunno why) These are questions you will have to ask your hairdresser! He/she is going to comprehend if this hairstyle would fit you. Depends...In the event you wear your hair in a ponytail rather a lot, then it's first-rate. And in addition when I say it falls out of a braid, I didn't mean french braid. My hair looks fine in a french braid! You rather can do various matters with layers. But if you happen to wear your hair in a easy braid (especially a side braid) then it can be not a good reduce for you ♪♫

Make sure you use a good moisturizer after you shampoo. My hair does not have split ends, but it is thick and has a tendency to frizz a bit making it look like I have split ends.
If you apply a small amount of an anti frizz smoothing serum on completely dry hair before using a flat iron, you will find that it helps protect your hair. A small amount goes a long way! You want your hair to look smooth, not greasy.

I'm using a heat shield spray from KMS at the moment..you spray it on right before using the flat iron.

I have no idea, but my second sister just pluck/cut her split ends off.
But I think you had better not do that... you might end up having EXTREMELY think hair.
