We had a bet on how long we could continue peeing in a large bucket in our bedroom before it smeled too bad to keep it in there.

Well, 3 weeks went by and it smelled so bad infact that when either of us peed in it, we had to cover our faces because the pee would displace the urine in the bucket and make the whole room smell really really bad.

We finally got ride of it when my roomate was peeing in it after 3 weeks and 4 days. It smelled so vile that even with her face covered by her shirt, she threw up under her shirt and all over the place because of how bad it smelled.

This was not a joke anymore and wasn't funny by the way.

So we tried to get rid of the bucket but we were dry heaving just trying to move it. We eventually covered it witrh plastic wrap and then moved it outdoors. We dug a hole in the backyard and pour it in the hole then covered it back up. We then put bleach in the bucket and let it sit.

Everything is fine now but the room now has a faint odor. WTF

For staters that is gross.

urine contains a whole lot of bacteria as well as the toxins and such your body just does not want. it also contains a lot of acids and enzymes that omit odors.

Odors are airborne and they stay in things. that is why a smokers house will smell like smoke, long after they stop smoking or certain cooking smells will stay in the air.

Wow, dude, I hope you're kidding.

Urine is liquid waste. It is the things that our body cannot or should not absorb.

It is filled with microorganisms, that while possibly harmless in and of themselves, react to other elements - like oxygen.

When you have urine sitting, what you have is a petri dish of innumerable microorganisms. You have chemical changes that result in gaseous output that will certainly be noxious to smell.

Next time pick a less gross experiment.

Urine is a waste product and full or bacteria and waste. As time goes by it will rapidly start to decay or rot and will produce a foul smell. (We think it's a bad smell as we use our smell to help us decide what to eat, bad smells warn us of rotting or bad food).

Urine is a waste product and it contains ammonia, thus the smell.

You folks need to get out more and find some real hobbies.
