Take a break first (more of one), then accept a crappy pay till it gets too cold to do anything THEN suck -up to unemployment.

Bear,

Many people who are employed by others feel the same way. It is really hard to get excited about going to work in order to make someone else rich! I can certainly relate as I did the same thing for many years before I started my own business.

I can tell you, though, that unemployment, in most cases is a big disappointment when it comes time to pay the bills and the longer you are out of work, the more you will hate going back. Sooner or later, the unemplyment will run out. Also, in most cases, if you are on these benefits and they send you for a job interview, you must take it or lose your benefits. This means that it can be less pay, more responsibility or even something that you hate worse than the present job.

My suggestion is this. If you are not happy with the results you are getting from your present job, you are in a position to change it. Decide what type of work you would enjoy and take the necessary action steps to achieve it. It may take some effort, learning and time but it will be worth it in the end.

You should also think about the job security in your next job. Whether or not it is something that you know will endure through time or will it fizzle out and put you back in the unemployment line?

I have some articles on this subject if you would like me to send them to you. It may help you decide what you want from a job and help you find the peace you are looking for in your employment.

If you would like a copy of them, please email me at bonnieram1962@yahoo.com and I will be happy to email them to you. I hope you find the answers you are searching for. Remember that you have a choice of what you do in life if you are willing to do what it takes to achieve your goals.

I always feel the same after my vacation and even after my rest day but after a few days you will be ok and you will be in a working mode again. Well, you should be grateful that you have a job when others are struggling to get one. I really can relate with your question because i have a graveyard shift and although i work in a call center our pay is not good. You can still work and look for another job right? Then if you are sure that you already have a better job, then resign. But it is up to you if u wanted to be part of the unemployed or if you will continue working.

The longer you stay on unemployment benefits the less likely you will be able to find a good job.

I would suggest that you work now while looking for better work, or do what many people do, work part-time and play part-time, while keeping an eye out for something better.

Welfare can be a trap that can suck you in and not let you out.
