madeline l'engle and c.s. lewis.
they were brilliant, funny, creative, and did not always find a need to lace their artwork with an agenda of conversion

there was this fellow I met in the army. Could well be the only religious person I ever met. this dude was rock solid in his beliefs and could really care less how anyone else felt. He showed (in the five years I knew him and I talked with almost daily) no not a single sign of being a hypocrite. He walked his talk, never once did assume to have a clue as what his god wanted from him or me for that matter. He answered any question I had with an unshakable faith (even the hard ones like dinosaurs). He glowed with the power of belief.

My mother is my favorite Christian, because she demonstrates all the most important beliefs of Christianity.
She spent her professional life teaching students with learning and/or emotional disabilities, helping them to appreciate the world more deeply and have more choices than they ever would have had otherwise. She loved and respected her parents profoundly, and she is the best partner my father could ever hope to have. She never discriminates against people (including me, her Pagan daughter), and has endless empathy for her fellow beings. I think she's a magnificent woman, and I think she's got all the heart, strength and intellect Christ could hope to see in a human being.

Cristian IV, King of Denmark in the 1600s. He was an idiot who thought he could take on the Holy Roman Empire during the Thirty Years War.

My 80 year old Grandmother, She is the only person I don't have the heart to tell that God isn't real. The rest of my family on the other hand I have no problem with it.
