You have blind faith that the chair your sitting in right now will support you, correct?

Blind faith is evil

Suspect faith is good

I could have as much faith as I wanted in the fact that I could fly but if I jump out of plane without a parachute, and excluding any other intervention to save me, I will die upon impact. Faith must ALWAYS have a firm foundation in reality or it becomes nothing more than a force of destruction

Bella Bellini™> nope..see I studied physics and understand why it supports me and why when someone who weighs too much sits on it it breaks. That is not blind faith..I also assume I will not fly off the face of the Earth and into space...but I don't have BLIND faith in gravity..a reasoned faith based on study and experience.

You shouldn't have blind faith. Your faith should be anchored in reality and the Truth. Please be sure to test your beliefs and never believe in something blindly. Lots of religious teachers are themselves deluded and blind fools. I feel bad for the people that follow them and are themselves led astray by false teachings.

You should arm yourself with discrimination. Have balance in your views, consider other points of views .. like science and as well your own experiences.

The best religion is the one based on values. Sincerity, honesty, unselfishness, kindness, self examination, and perserverance. These values will help you to become a better person.

That will definitely help you to lead a more happy life and people around you will like you more. I think that's definitely a positive thing.

If you are interested in transcendent and meta-physical spritual things, the enquiry into these matters is only helpful if the above mentioned values are present in your character. Otherwise, you will become a hypocrite and a liar. Which is the worst thing.

If you are going through a crisis of faith, remember the Truth exists even now. You have to remove your ignorance and strive to understand the nature of things in the correct light. Even difficulties in your life, you examine these difficulties. Don't just idly pray to God or Buddha or whatever. Take concrete steps to better your life and examine your problems objectively. This is my recommendation.

Good luck.

A Christian might start out with what might be termed 'blind faith', not always but some (I did), but when a person who starts off in Christianity begins to learn about the things in the Bible, and what it means to be Christian, their faith is just as plain to see as yours.

The thing is, I find that the people who ask the question that you are asking do not understand what faith is! People who ask this question are never going to admit to their own faith typically. They think that because they are not 'religious' that they do not apply the concept of faith in their lives, yet they do!

So what do you have faith in? Yourself? What you believe? Do you wonder before you get out of bed whether or not your feet are never going to touch the floor, gravity being not there to carry you to the ground? No.

You have established it as fact that it happens, but confidence in what you have accepted is what faith is. You live by faith in things that you have accepted!

A Christian is no exception. The object of faith is in God through Jesus Christ. Your objects of faith are different if you are not a Christian. That's the difference. Otherwise we all 'faith' (verb form of the word) if we function in life as 'normal' people.

You've got to know the difference between a blind faith and 'seeing' faith.

I posted it once already, but what the heck ...

"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." -- Thomas Jefferson

The unexamined life is not worth living. Question everything!

Seriously, if you really believe the Bible, step back from it a minute, and ask yourself -- do you believe this because you've been raised to believe it? Have you ever stopped for a moment to realize that the Bible is one of hundreds of morality/creation tales that humans have invented over the centuries? And if that's the case, what makes this one so special ... other than the fact that it's what you've grown up believing?

If you've examined your faith and still come back to your current place, that's great. But blind faith is irresponsible and even dangerous.

It's called blind faith because you can see no proof. If you could see proof, where's the faith? If faith gets you nowhere, your faith must lie in the wrong place. Try God instead. With true faith in Him, you'll surely get results.

"Blind faith" is not faith; it is credulity.

True faith is based upon assured expectation of realities, although we haven't yet seen them. (Hebrews 11:1)

“Assured expectation” translates the Greek word hy·po′sta·sis. This term is common in ancient papyrus business documents. It conveys the idea of something that underlies visible conditions and guarantees a future possession. In view of this, Moulton and Milligan suggest the rendering: “Faith is the title deed of things hoped for.” (Vocabulary of the Greek Testament, 1963, p. 660) The Greek word e′leg·khos, rendered “evident demonstration,” conveys the idea of bringing forth evidence that demonstrates something, particularly something contrary to what appears to be the case. Thereby this evidence makes clear what has not been discerned before and so refutes what has only appeared to be the case. “The evident demonstration,” or evidence for conviction, is so positive or powerful that faith is said to be it.

In other words, we have faith that God will keep his promises NOW because he has always kept them in the past.

"For without FAITH it is impossible to please God" ~Hebrews11:6

Faith is foundational in Christianity...Blessed are those who believe; even though they have yet to see (Him; Yehushua, Yeshua=Jesus).

~~~OR~~~
What if we go ahead and reverse the latter part of your question?
"And what if this blind faith gets you EVERYTHING and MORE than your stubborn heart ever thought conceivable?"
I look at it this way; when Scripture makes mention of HELL, it is for a very DISTINCT reason----
"MANKIND IS INHERENTLY BENT TOWARD SIN AND REBELLION TO THE HOLY ATTRIBUTES OF GOD."-7
We need, as with spiritually blinded eyes, and deafened ears...a SHOUT OUT from elohim I AM!!!! This is what NONBELIEVERS do not understand; and in fact, the WORD of the LORD declares that THOSE WHO REFUSE the obviousness of HIS EXISTENCE, those who refuse to do their own homework and really believe in FAITH by truly studying the scriptures ON THEIR OWN, BELIEVING that if one calls upon the Father for understanding, wisdom, and spiritual discernment.....that one would KNOW then how very patient and desiring the Lord IS to have a PERSONAL and ACTIVE, LIVING, EXCITING relationship with those who seek HIM with ALL of their heart.
Blind faith is a prerequisite, it is likewise a sustainer. Don't forget that "us Christians" also have to use faith DAILY when we come before the LORD in prayer, when we (like all people)-have circumstances in life that need attention from a higher power than our own. The LORD always listens, and he always ANSWERS~ but it is always "YES", "NO" or "WAIT ON MY TIMING".....
Fully put your whole heart, mind, strength and ANY and ALL degree of FAITH you have into HONESTLY seeking the LORD YHWH, in the sacrifice of YESHUA ......and HE WILL SHOW YOU THAT HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN WITH YOU.
YHWH Bless you,
~~Seven~~
Faith in Christ is like anything else. I have studied the facts of his life and the word of the Bible and I have faith that I am saved by grace through faith because of my studies. I have also studied George Washington's life, Abraham Lincoln's life, Etc. there is no one alive today to give specific testimony of those people, no one who touched them, talked with them, ate, or walked with them. I simply have to have faith that what I was taught in school about them was true and that they did in fact exist. God bless.
