There are people who call themselves "good catholics" but are not born again. They have not asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into their hearts and save them. Nor do they believe it necessary..because of some of the doctrines they have been taught.

Personally, it is not a big step for the Catholics I have met. Because they already believe in the Lord.

Most non-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A very few do not.

A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.

Catholics would fit this definition.

In the Nicene creed, from 325 C.E., Catholics profess:

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father.

Through Him all things were made.

For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried.

On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

We truly are spiritually "born again," we just don't usually use those words.

Your loaded question is a fallacy. Just like the old unjust leading question, "Have you stopped beating your wife?"

This type of fallacy is called Plurium Interrogationum, which in Latin means "many questions" and is a question with a false, disputed, or question-begging presupposition.

It's not the group or organization that saves you.
Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Many protestants oppose the worship and calling Mary the mother of god (not found anywhere in the bible).
Praying to Mary and appointed saints.Jesus is the only way to the Father (Mary would never try to usurp authority over Jesus).
Priest (or the pope) can do nothing about sin.Jesus is the only one that can forgive sin.
The bible is 100% accurate (no man, including a pope can change one jot or tittle of God's word).
Idol worship has always been forbidden by God.

Again it's not a group that saves you (it's Jesus).

I think that isn't exactly accurate. A person in any denomination could actually be saved if they put their trust in nothing but Jesus alone. Whether you belong to a certain denomination has no bearing on where you spend eternity. I believe there are Christians in just about any denomination. The doctrines that the denomination promotes and adheres to are critical though in whether the church itself is in line with Christ's teachings. Many feel our friends, the Catholics subscribe to some false doctrines that are scriptural.....example is the deity of Mary. That's only one, but it is considered idolatry to the main line Christian denominations. There are many doctrines that separate the protestants from the Catholics and therein is the conflict. As to the members of the Catholic church, I myself know many true Christians that are members. There salvation does not depend on where they go to church.....though it may be more difficult to find Christ as a personal Savior at some denominations.

To be honest, it is barely the main hateful of Protestants that make such claims as "Catholics are not Christian" or that they worship saints or the Virgin Mary. Many mainline Protestants rather do no longer think of of such matters. That pronounced, my superb guess is a few people who make those claims think of they are doing the artwork of God, yet in certainty are feeding their very own egos. they seem to prefer a combat with Rome, the Catholic Church, and non secular Catholics, and could prefer to hurl their accusations from a secure distance quite than actual learn relating to the church by a Catholics eyes. They place self assurance in what hateful pastors and human beings like Jack Chick tell them the church is, quite of gaining knowledge of for themselves by skill of experiencing and reading the Catholic Church's literature and positions. Many seem to the bible by myself, yet do no longer know how the Bible replaced into taught formerly there replaced right into a Bible: The Roman Catholic and jap Orthodox Church's the two maintained the traditions from formerly the bible replaced into compiled, to that end permitting themselves the source of the classic fathers of the church. Pray for people who could persecute Catholics.

Because they pray to Mary & other saints. Making them their Intercessor/mediator In prayer, thus meaning they're praying on their behalf. There Is only one divine Mediator,Jesus Christ. We are Instructed that when we pray to pray In Jesus name. The name that Is above every name. He and He alone died for our sins, not Mary or the other saints that they hold In such high reguard. They know that Mary wasn't without sin. She was a direct decsendant of Rahab the prositute. Confessing your sins to a preist Isn't neccesary as once again Jesus Christ Is the only one that can forgive us of sin by the shedding of His blood. A priest cannot give absolution for anyone's sins for they are human meaning they are sinners themselves. That would make him equal to God. Not so ! Call no man father but you're heavenly Father.
If I were going to a church that didn't share the Bible and all that It stands for then I wouldn't be there. Why link your self to something that goes against your beliefs ? I wouldn't.

Do Catholics confess to Christ? My understanding is they confess to a priest, who then instructs hail Mary's? No? As a believer, to be saved, you must recognize Christ as your Lord and Savior, and confess to Him, (no man), your sins. I personally am not hard on anyone of any belief, but if asked of mine...I shall tell!

It bothers me to see ppl forcing "conversion" to anyone that isn't welcoming, you only sound incompetent to the person you're wasting your breath upon. Be blessed, friend.

We are "clan-oriented" animals. We gather in groups of like-minded individuals and reinforce each others' beliefs. We also point outside our little circles at people who do not entirely share out beliefs and condemn them because they are not "us."

This does not happen only in religion, but in politics as well. It is particularly evident in the United States, where people are offered a binary choice of candidates.

It is fundamental human behavior. If you care to undertake an informal experiment, walk through Boston with a New York Yankees baseball cap on your head.

Lutherans believe they are saved... we just take issue with a few little things, like the veneration of Mary and the Saints, the selling of indulgences (yes, it still goes on), belief in purgatory, .... But, as they have been Baptized and reborn as children of God, they are saved.

Rayneshowers, you are awfully judgemental. Who are you to determine who is a Christian and who is not? Who is saved and who is not? Just because one does not believe the same as you does not make them wrong, it just makes them different.

That is quite some generalization you have made there. The Episcopalian, Presbyterian, United Methodist, and several branches of Baptist churches do not believe Catholics "aren't saved".
