I got mine out at 32, it was the worst pain I had ever felt, and I have had 6 other surgeries including a C-section after 24 hours of labor, and still the tonselectomy was worse. The severe pain lasted about 2 weeks with moderate pain for another 2 weeks. Sorry I don't have better news for you. Just keep trying to sip room/body temp water to keep yourself hydrated, don't try anything acidy or fizzy. Try some pudding, it goes down smoothly, also some vanilla yogurt, this will give you acidopholis which aids in healing. Get well soon, I said a prayer for you to get well soon. I really understand.

Ugh I know it sucks! I had to surgery a couple years ago myself. I kept thinking..when is this gonna heal?! But we have to remember our throat is like a highway; there is always saliva or some sort of liquid traveling down it, so therefore the healing process definately takes longer than say, if you had a cut and you bandaged it so it wasn't exposed. No matter what you have to get nutrition into you! I lived off of spagettio's. It still hurt but I found warming them up a little helped. I also drank a lot of slim fast drinks & my mom made me up some vanilla pudding mixed with pumpkin puree. That actually felt good going down my throat! Best wishes

I got mine out when I was only seven...it sucks! Your throat will hurt for a while. If the pain is inbarable, I would wait a couple days and then see a doctor if you can't live. For me, sucking on ice cubes helped, and eatinng Jell-O did too. Get well soon and I hope this helps!
