We as Christians, are told to preach the Gospel. That is tell people about Jesus, and His love for them. He died for all of us while we are sinners . The Holy Spirit convicts sin, not us.
Try going into prisons, these people know that they have messed up. When they are told about Jesus' love and acceptance, Jesus changes lives. People need love and acceptance.
There were many prostitutes, thieves, and murders in the Bible who accepted Jesus and their lives were changed. Look at Paul. It was His love that did it.

I've never heard of that, but I don't know every detail of the bible, as the parts I've read/heard are unbelieveable.
I do find it odd that you can only "see" the "sins" of us non-Christians...but turn a blind eye on your own kind that sin just as much, and sometimes more, than us non-believers.
Maybe you should have a chat with your god again, and tell him that you need to see them too so you can go after the hypocrites...not the ones that don't believe a word you say.

If you truly are a Christian you should be so overwhelmed with your own sin that you will even care about the sin in others lives.... read Matthew 5-7 and see if you think it is possible for you to become "perfect in Christ". The only way we can be perfect in God's eyes is only through His grace.....

No, No, and No! It's not your job to point out anyone's sins! Get the telephone pole out of your own eye before you go around trying to pick the toothpic out of someone else's. It is given to you to tell the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is the only one who is gifted with telling people their sins and He does a very good job of it without your help. Why would you ever see that as some special gift and to what cause....does it help you feel superior?
Perhaps you are referring to the gift of discernment. If so, you misunderstand it's purpose. The more you ingest the scriptures, the more discernment you have. It is a natural result of dying to self and living for God. But, it is a gift. The purpose of it is not to edify the body, or to point out people's sins to them. The purpose is to protect YOU from falling into temptation and straying from God. It is available to all Christians. Within the church structure Christians do have liberty to correct the flock. This is, of course, one of the duties in fact of the leadership. Paul often corrected the different churches which he wrote to. He was given that authority by God. We are also given the liberty by God to rebuke Satan. It may seem we are pointing out unbeliever's sins, but there again, we are rebuking Satan, not the messenger. It's sounds complicated, but not really. We aren't commissioned by God to go around "pointing people's sins out to them. Generally speaking, people have a conscience and know when they sin. But telling them they have a Savior available is exactly what we should be about.
Generally it isn't hard for anyone (Christian or unbeliever) to identify other people's (Christian or unbelievers) sins......actually it's just a part of human nature. The hard thing to do is recognize our own sins. There in is the challenge.

You know, these kinds of comments are the reason that so many people hate so-called "Christians". Jesus Christ, whom you might remember that Christianity is based upon, did not advocate us judging one another, but rather loving unconditionally. If you really want to be a good Christian why don't you try looking inward, and spend less time worrying about the so-called "sins" of others. That's God's job, not yours!

I feel that as a Christian my job is to see past peoples sins. Remember God loves us in spite of the things we do, not because of the things we do. As for the diciples, God gives His followers a spirit of dicernment. We don't actually see peoples sins, but we can tell when a soul is in need and when someone is not walking with God. This is more of an observation than an ability or judgement. He gives us this so we can lead others to Him.
As for pointing people's sins out to them, I would be careful. It could push them away and make them less accepting of the gosple. The best things you can do is pray for them, listen to them, and offer your advice. In the end it wasn't hearing people call me out on my sin that got me saved. It was the love of Christ flowing through them that made me see the light.

You could pray for the gift of prophecy, which is the ability to discern sin in the lives of others and in the Church, as well as the willingness to call people to repentance and thus to salvation. Read 1 Corinthians 14, in which Paul entreats believers to desire the gift of prophecy.
Just be careful with this gift, as it can easily lead you to become judgmental of others, and blind to your own sins (having a log in your own eye and trying to take the speck out of others' eyes).

I dont think christians today have those kind of gist cuz in that case we would have the authority to judge peopel which is something that only God can do. I don't know of any case int eh Bible where disciples had the power to do that and if they did it was authorized by God - but we as humans don no thave those powers todday and we do not need to have them to be perfect in Christ - it is not up to us to criticize or judge people only God!

I think it can happen. There is a lady in my church that was on a bus one time and God opened her eyes to the sins of the people on the bus. She didn't say anything to anyone because she was afraid that she would judge these people.

...Not going to say it.
Ok, I will, I can't help it. Christians have always been fixated on other people's sins. It makes it easy to ignore their own. If this were a gift, I doubt it would be from God.
