The US is alienating the Afghan people cause we are taking away their poppy fields, at home war on drugs is making rich drug dealers, gangs, maffia and terrorists use drug money to fight their terrorism activities.
Isn't it time to to listen to Ron Paul and end the war on drugs?

I think there is a difference.
If drugs were legalised it is likely that people would use less and the profit motive would be removed.
Nothing will stop terrorism except democracy, but I don't think it can be forced onto other countries by war.

Well lets see. If we had statistics on how many deaths are attributed to each, we could figure it out. My guess would be that drugs, and the deaths attributed to them, kill more of our people than than terrorists. That is just a guess.

I think it's a fair question.

The war on drugs has been lost................I work with drug addicts and they have long criminal records............almost without exception and it didn't deter them one bit.

At the very least, isn't it the definition of stupid to do the same thing over and over and expect different results? Wouldn't it be logical to at the very least find a new way to fight the war on drugs?
