Here is the 2007 federal benefits book for veterans. It will tell you what your family is entitled to by the Federal Government. You also need to look into what your state benefits are. The 10% disability rating can be ammended, be sure he claims everything that has happened to him mentally and physically while in the service no matter how insignificant. The magic number is 70%. Once a 70% disabilty rating is achieved he can then apply for 100% due to unemployability.

You would need to check with the VA to be sure, but I don't think they can with a rating of 10%. Usually to get any special programs or assistance the Veteran has to be rated at 30% or more. If he has a rating of 10% from the Army have the VA relook at his disability packet, he might be able to get more, which will open more doors for special programs and benifits. Thanks for serving.

I am sure there are some scholarships that are for children of disabled vets. Just search the web a little bit and you should find something.

In some states, like Californoa there are tuition programs for the children of vets. Contact your local office of veteran's affairs for info.

They are eligible to receive more/different grants. Talk to your V.A. for better information

sure, by filling out the FAFSA like everybody else. there are no military programs they can utilize.
