The Jews rejected Christ.
You can believe one or the other.
I choose to believe the word of God.
The Qu'ran teaches Jesus is the word of God.
What did Jesus say that the Jews rejected?

John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Ann, Paul is an apostle of Jesus Christ and does teach the word of God,
Paul himself warned of anyone teaching different Gospel.
Gal.1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon are moved from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another bgospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Abraham believed the lord would provide hmself a lamb.

Sincer Adviser, I believe that was the reason the Jews did not accept Christ.

Did the deciples accept christ as only a Messiah?

Mat.16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Sincere they have one will.

Jesus said I and my Father are one.

John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

When it suits Muslims they even tell us that Jews killed Jesus and therefore we should hate them.

There is so much misinformation and DISinformation put about regarding the Trinity doctrine, it's appalling. Of course, those who hate the idea of Jesus being (the same) God as the Creator have reason to misrepresent the teaching. With the Jews, it is true that all of their scriptures warn against polytheism, so Jesus' claims offend them. Only when they realise he is the Creator do they overcome this hurdle to understanding.

But your Q is why the Muslims say.... They have long debated the doctrine with Christians, so I suspect their leaders DO understand the correct explanations as to why polytheism is not being committed. But confusion arises with Catholics calling Mary 'Mother of God', Mormons saying Jesus was sexually begotton by God, and Jehovah's Witnesses rubbishing the doctrine with specious reasoning. This gives Muslim leaders plenty of ammunition to fire, the result being much misunderstanding. Nor does it help that Muslims are so ignorant about what Jesus prophecied and taught and said. They have been told the New Testament is corrupt and is not to be believed. I posted a recent Q asking them what they know, and (so far) all I've got are a few verses from the Quran purpoting to give a few of Jesus' words. So I think this demonstrates the need to educate Muslims about how they are being misled.

That's something that has had me puzzled, too. The Qur'an says those who are christian are closest in love...... but it's the jews who don't believe christ is the 'savior' . so yeah, that's very puzzling. maybe it's that the early christians did worship God directly, as Jesus taught (before Paul came into the picture). So, really, the earliest jews, christians and muslims ALL worshipped pretty much the same, the way Abraham did, directly to God alone. Later on is when all the division came about. Personally, I think all 3 have a lot right, and a little wrong. God will tell us in the end.

djmantx, I was a Jew who accepted Islam, and I must tell you that Jews believe that the trinity is pure polytheism. If you disagree, why don't you post a question to the Jews asking them whether they believed the trinity to be polytheism or monotheism?

I dare you do that!

Why do I have to reject Jesus as a true Messiah when the Koran proves he was. I was just saying that both Muslims and Jews agree that the trinity is polytheism. Hey, Unitarian Christians also believe the trinity to be polytheism. What's wrong with you?

Jews are right to say that the trinity is polytheism, but they are wrong in claiming that Jesus was a Messiah Cheat; plain and simple.

EDIT: I think the rejection of the prophets' teachings and words is a Christian business; a pure Christian thing! BTW, where's your photo? I'd really wish watching your handsome face! Don't think that our difference in belief and in the way of thinking would make us enemies. I mean we're still friends until war is officially declared between Muslims and Christians! Waiting for your beautiful photo you porky fellow!

No, Muslims are not saved. But if they believe in Jesus Christ, they should be reading the Bible and following the path of Jesus to be saved. Muhammad was a false prophet. Jesus warned 'beware of false prophets'. All people on Earth are Gods people. The ones that are saved follow the Path of Jesus Christ to the Father, God. Muhammad got the story a bit mixed up.

Let me ask you this: If Jews had accepted Jesus as the promised Messiah, would they also have accepted him as God? The answer is clearly no.

It all boils down to how many wills are we talking about. If the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost each have a will of their own, that's three gods.

If they have one will, and God was acting as the Son, then God deceived people.

Anyone who listens to one of you explaining Trinity, will believe that you are worshiping more than one God.

And you are right, The Quran teaches that Jesus is the word of God, not the Son of God, and not a God, and not worthy to be worshiped.

Thanks for Replying to me:
Again, I believe he is the word of God. But I never said I believe in the Bible as it is the word of a few men who never met each others. Do you have "red line" bible, where the words of Jesus are written in red?? The red is less 5% of the Bible. So the bible is the teachings of those men, not Jesus.

2007-09-28 03:07:16 · answer #7 · answered by Ahmed A 4 · 3 4

jesus said nothing that the jews "rejected."
christians say that jesus said things that jews currently "reject"
and i think there is a big difference.
you cannot quote biblical scripture as fact. it is written by man and then rewritten by man to be the "word of god."
interpolation and humanity forbid a reasonable person to conclude that the bible is evidence of anything other than metaphor.
the bible is pagan.

btw...i am a jew and i do not think the trinity is polytheism, i think the trinity represents the same confusion as monotheism.

They want to cause dissension between Christians and Jews so America will stop supporting Israel. In fact, Jews probably don't even know much about the Trinity doctrine, and even more likely don't care.

It would seem that way to anyone who wasn't Christian. Christian even have a hard time explaining the trinity.
