Because He has a great sense of humor. Look at the platapus.
Evolution IS just a theory, as are religious beliefs.

When you have a good design, why abandon it? The fact that they are so much alike tells me they share a common Designer (God).
The Bible states that made was made from the "dust" (or more literally "elements") of the earth the same as any of the animals. So he should share many of the same "elements" as the chimps and other creatures.
However, you are apparently behind the times. More recent discoveries in the last year have greatly reduce the per centage that humans and chimps are said to be similiar. Many genetic scientist how say that even between two individual humans, the genetic match is under 95%. And have further reduced it for other animals.

He did it to confuse people like you.
J/K - God made each species of animals to reproduce after their own kind, and similarities does not necessarily imply a common ancestor; it can also imply a common designer.
I would really be interested in knowing where you get your information, and how much of the monkey's DNA really IS similar to a humans. For instance, how many chromosomes, genes and base-pairs do chimps have, vs that of humans, et cetera?
Don't be taken in by deceptive "information" that can not be validated.
By the way, Darwin was all wet in his approach to science.
He actually believed that the cell was the smallest part of the living body, that it was composed of a fluid he referred to as an "ambiotic" fluid, and that the "undesignated" cells within the foetus could be reformulated (reformatted?) by external stimulii.
He knew absolutely NOTHING about the nucleus; mitochondria and the way raw materials are converted into usable energy by the cell; proteins and protein synthesis; RNA, and that ever wonderful double-stranded DNA in a helixical form.
He based his so-called logic that led to his theory on fautly science, and anybody who knows anything about logic can tell you that if the premise is faulty, then the conclusion will, likewise be faulty.
The theory of evolution is neither scientific NOR logical.
So don't get your tights all in a bunch, because we are NOT descended from a lower life form, but we truly ARE created in the image of God by a loving God who wanted us as His own dear children.

You could stack a pile of evidence for evolution in front of a creationist and they still would believe that the Earth appeared out of nowhere 6000 years ago. Ask to explain fossils, oh god put it there. Ask them to explain why stars that are millions of light years away can be seen, which would be impossible if the universe was only 6000 years old. These people are going to stay ignorant, but hopefully it will die out. Good observation though, didn't think about that one.
Oh I just read the crap this guy above me wrote. Are you serious or are you really that dumb. Evolution takes millions of years to progress, its not like overnight a monkey is going to walk upright and start farming.
And if god created us in his own image then why do we look so similar to chimps.

Chimps are not 98% matches to humans, rather humans are 98% chimp, because we come from them. Of course this doesn't make sense from a divine creationist perspective. Nothing makes sense from a creationist perspective. Anyone who has seen chimps or apes in their natural environment and sees their behavior can't deny they are like humans with fur who can't talk. I definitely believe chimps are our cousins, I don't care what creationists say.

Funnily enough, a dog is probably 98% genetically human (at least genetically the same). Most of our genes do not define physical features, but define chemical and biological makeup. They have a heart dont they? They have a brain dont they? It is mostly the same! Ours is just slighty different. 2% different perhaps. Vive la Différence!
It is actually completely logical.

That was a failed experiment!
It is all an experiment!
If it was not, God could have made all things perfect to begin with, That would serve no purpose!
If you sat around for EONS, wouldn`t you get bored and experiment?
Why did you think there was a choice given to Adam and Eve? God didn`t NEED to give choice, but he did..
Why are we given choices?
Would you play a game where you won every time?
Would you eat the same food for every meal?
We are all different (That`s what makes us all the same!) Do you see the beauty in this!

The vast majority of Christians have no problem with Evolution. It is just a fringe group of Christian Extremists who take Genesis literally that have a problem. Half the Christians in the world are Catholic, and the preious pope agrees with you completely. He once said "Evolution is much more than mere theory."

if humans evolved from apes in such a short time why doesn't a new form of man walk from the jungle ever couple of years since they have been around since before us according to your theory? why is it man is the only creature to invent such technology as a we have and other apes can even tie a rock to a stick in the millions of years they have been around? why did Darwin on his death bed even say his theory was wrong? what 2 percent didn't they get?, higher brain function? speech? rational thought? please give us a break humans are humans, apes are apes period!
