babo1dm: If the trinity didn't exist at that time, who is Genesis talking about when it says man was made in "our" image?

Good question. According to the trinity, it has always existed. But if Jesus died then the trinity died because it takes THREE to be God, not TWO. Did Jesus really die? Yes. At Gal. 1:1, it says: "Paul, an apostle, neither from men nor through a man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him up from the dead."

If Jesus was not dead, what would be the point of the God the Father raising Jesus from the dead? It wouldn't make sense.

Jesus' own words at John 17:3 PROVES that there is NO trinity. There, he said that his Father was the ONLY true God. Doesn't that imply then the the Son and the holy spirit are NOT part of a 3-in-one God if the Father ALONE is God?

What would be the purpose of Jesus being sent to earth to die for our sins if he didn't really die as some stated in their answers? He had to die or the ransom sacrifice would not have been accepted. A perfect life (Jesus)in exchange for a perfect life (Adam)had to be offered up.
The Bible tells us that the dead are conscious of nothing. They cannot think or feel anything. Jesus was unaware of anything for the three days he lay sleeping in death. He knew nothing until his Father who was in heaven resurrected him back to life. He certainly was unable to raise himself from the dead, since he was totally unconscious at the time.
The trinity is a false pagan doctrine and has no place in true worship. God is not a "mystery" and never will be to those who truly come to know him as the only true God.

This is an excellent question, pointing toward very important stuff. The problem is that using "time" words about God doesn't work. It's like using color words about numbers -- what color is 32,999?

God exists outside of time. It's not that He exists for a reeeally long time. He is *OUTSIDE* of time. There are various phrases in Scripture and in the Nicene Creed that point to this. He existed "before" time existed. He is outside the creation, which includes time.

Here we are INSIDE time. We can't talk without referring to time -- like saying God existed "before" time.

Jesus exists outside time. Also, at one point He was present directly as a human individual inside time. But while He was present inside time he never stopped existing outside time.

If I say "at the same time Jesus was dead He also existed outside time" I am using time words! Your question is the same way.

The point is: Time questions about God don't work. The closest we can come is to talk in the present tense -- "God exists." Or, as He Himself said when asked His name: "I am"

Trinity.
Jesus continued existing after His soul and spirit were separated from His body at the time of death.

Jesus talked about Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as existing people, although not existing on Earth, but still real people.

even though Jesus took upon Himself our humanity it was only the body that died, His immortal soul did not die so therefore the Trinity was never at any time relegated to what you propose as binity.

The trinity is a false doctrine. Jesus never referred to himself as being God, he once stated that he was ascending to his father and our father, how can you ascend to yourself or raise yourself from the grave?
