Mt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

What kinds of deceptions will these be?

They will look very close to the real thing. They will claim they come in the name of Christ, and offer up their counterfeit christ as proof of their sincerity.

Example: The Roman Catholic Church claims the name of Christ, but has a false christ who is unable to climb down from the cross. They offer up his body and blood in transubstantiation (signs and wonders), and say that their priests, popes etc (false prophets) are the only way one may reach God.

Well Matthew 24 is talking about the tribulation. So these elect would be those who have gotten saved during that time. The deceptions could be simple as no harm will come to them if they bow down and serve the Anti-Christ.

If you look at what Jesus says about that call him Lord Lord in (Matthew7:22,23)Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'2and 2323Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' He called them evil doers because those powerful works, (driving out demons)and miracles(healing and speaking in tongues) are deceptions that satan uses to confuse people away from the truth about God, and they are not real signs of someone having the holy spirit, but (Galatians 5:22&23) tell us what attributes are the real signs of someone having the holy spirit,22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. If a person really has the holy spirit those are the qualities they will display as the preceding 2 verses bring out.

Probably ones that use the word "Christianity" but teach a gospel of hate.. Probably deceptions like "If you are a Christian, then you are right and everybody else is wrong, and I (the false prophets) will tell you what being a Christian means."

Fundamentalism fits this bill pretty well.

it is not what it will be,it is what it is already.namely God fearing christians that talk about war and killing.Jesus said 2000 years ago when his disciples asked him, when will it be,he told them then already that the false christ is between them, meaning the same church teachings ,but using the name of Jesus together with their lies and deceit
