Jesus Cannot be God for more reasons than that one,
IF it was true that Jesus was God, it should be clearly and consistently presented in the Bible. Why? Because, as the apostles affirmed, the Bible is God's revelation of himself to mankind. And since we need to know God to worship him acceptably, the Bible should be clear in telling us just who he is.

First-century believers accepted the Scriptures as the authentic revelation of God. It was the basis for their beliefs, the final authority. For example, when the apostle Paul preached to people in the city of Beroea, "they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so."-Acts 17:10, 11.

What did prominent men of God at that time use as their authority? Acts 17:2, 3 tells us: "According to Paul's custom . . . he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving by references [from the Scriptures]."

Jesus himself set the example in using the Scriptures as the basis for his teaching, repeatedly saying: "It is written." "He interpreted to them things pertaining to himself in all the Scriptures."-Matthew 4:4, 7; Luke 24:27.

Thus Jesus, Paul, and first-century believers used the Scriptures as the foundation for their teaching. They knew that "all Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."-2 Timothy 3:16, 17; see also 1 Corinthians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20, 21.

Since the Bible can 'set things straight,' it should clearly reveal information about a matter as fundamental as the Trinity is claimed to be. But do theologians and historians themselves say that it is clearly a Bible teaching?

Does the Bible clearly say that Jesus is God, If that were the Case then the Bible should say so,sometimes people use (John10:30)to prove that Jesus is God, But is that what it says there? No, In Fact, just a few verses later Jesus himself says:"I am God's son"verse36,and in the38th verse, he explains what being one with his Father actually means:I am in union with the Father and the Father is in union with me, in (John8:55)Jesus tells us that he observes God's word, does that make sense if he were God he wouldn't need to follow God's word because he would be God!Just like if Jesus were God he would know the day and hour of when the end of the system of things that we are living in is(Mathew24:36)

A PROTESTANT publication states: "The word Trinity is not found in the Bible . . . It did not find a place formally in the theology of the church till the 4th century." (The Illustrated Bible Dictionary) And a Catholic authority says that the Trinity "is not . . . directly and immediately [the] word of God."-New Catholic Encyclopedia.

The Catholic Encyclopedia also comments: "In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word [tri'as] (of which the Latin trinitas is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A. D. 180. . . . Shortly afterwards it appears in its Latin form of trinitas in Tertullian."

However, this is no proof in itself that Tertullian taught the Trinity. The Catholic work Trinitas-A Theological Encyclopedia of the Holy Trinity, for example, notes that some of Tertullian's words were later used by others to describe the Trinity. Then it cautions: "But hasty conclusions cannot be drawn from usage, for he does not apply the words to Trinitarian theology."

Testimony of the Hebrew Scriptures

WHILE the word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible, is at least the idea of the Trinity taught clearly in it? For instance, what do the Hebrew Scriptures ("Old Testament") reveal?

The Encyclopedia of Religion admits: "Theologians today are in agreement that the Hebrew Bible does not contain a doctrine of the Trinity." And the New Catholic Encyclopedia also says: "The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the O[ld] T[estament]."

Similarly, in his book The Triune God, Jesuit Edmund Fortman admits: "The Old Testament . . . tells us nothing explicitly or by necessary implication of a Triune God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. . . . There is no evidence that any sacred writer even suspected the existence of a [Trinity] within the Godhead. . . . Even to see in [the "Old Testament"] suggestions or foreshadowings or 'veiled signs' of the trinity of persons, is to go beyond the words and intent of the sacred writers."-Italics ours.

An examination of the Hebrew Scriptures themselves will bear out these comments. Thus, there is no clear teaching of a Trinity in the first 39 books of the Bible that make up the true canon of the inspired Hebrew Scriptures.

So maybe you should come back to the Bible, not Christendom. The Trinity is not a Bible teaching! So those teaching the trinity are going against what the Bible teaches.

One can get schizophrenia trying to understand the Christian concept of God. When pressed hard, Christians throw up their hands and say that it's a mystery or you need to have the Holy Spirit to understand it.

The latest Christian attempt to explain Christianity is to invent the concept of "Godhead." Godhead is a “set” [if you are familiar with set theory] in which the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are subsets. Each subset is also God, but may not be in the literal sense. Let’s say that you worship “Pets.” You don’t know what “Pets” is, but you do know that your dog, cat and pet stone are all “Pets.” So it makes no difference what particular pet you refer to, it's part of “Pets.” Got it? The problem with this argument is that “Pets” [Godhead] has no existence of its own; it’s simply a name for a group, and if it has a separate will, distinct from the other three, then one will cannot have a subordinate will, because by definition a will is singular.

Another way to look at it is that God was "acting" as the Son and later as "Holy Spirit." In other words, playing double or triple roles. That's certainly logical. But when you read various statements of Jesus, it creates even more theological problems, as it would turn Jesus into a liar.

No matter how you look at it, the Christian concept of God does not make sense. And the reason it doesn't is because a Semitic religion was paganized, and it was like mixing oil with water. If Christians understand that "Son of God" and even "Begotten Son of God" were simply Hebrew expressions for Jewish prophets and kings, everything will begin to fall into place, and mental gymnastics will no longer be necessary.

That is where the belief in a Trinity comes in. Christians believe in 3 beings that are all really the same being. God the Father (the one that Jesus prayed to), God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. During the baptism of Jesus, many Christians believe that all there were there at the same time, God the Father spoke, the dove was the Holy spirit, and Jesus was God the Son. It is a bit complicated, but once you begin to understand that there are 3 in one, but the three are separate as well, it begins to make since, at least for me it did.

Some people (a minority of the people) believe that the trinity make Christianity a polytheistic religion, and to a point I can see where this mistake is made, but the Christian God is supposed to be all powerful, and can be any where or do anything. It is similar to the movie Aladdin when the genie is three or four people all at once and all helping Aladdin, but all of them were still the Genie.

the need to follow a religion at all is beyond me. What cant you stand on your own two feet, hey why dont you become a witch and follow that religion. The bible which ever way it is understood, is nothing more than a novel with no hard evidence of fact. No different from a book in the library, the only difference is that some really clever person wrote it and had the ability to write it so many years ago before all others. As economics was not the driving force back then and barter was then dont you think the only reason people followed it was because that was the only way that writter could promote there talent and rake in the goods and services. Very clever person, very stupid followers.

God can not take a seat at his very own precise edge. He does not pray to himself. He does not say he's doing the desire of the single that despatched him. He may well be attentive to the day and hour that God grow to be going to start up Armageddon. He does not say he has forsaken himself. He does not say "it incredibly is my son, the single I somewhat have authorized. while he died, who grow to be it that resurrected him. The Bible says that God exalted Jesus yet why might he exalt himself? Jesus suggested God grow to be extra advantageous than he. Jesus in no way asked for every person to worship him. If God prays how can he be God? If Jesus is God why did he could desire to get baptized? If Jesus is God , in who's call grow to be he baptized in? How did Jesus acquire the Holy Spirit if he's likewise God & the Holy Spirit ? If Jesus is God who grow to be it that he prayed too to keep him from dying? Himself? Hebrews 5:7 Did everybody that observed Jesus die? (Exodus 33:20) . . .“you're actually not waiting to work out my face, because of the fact no guy may even see me and yet stay.” And God isn't a God of misunderstanding? because of the fact Jesus isn't God. isn't it superb how actual the Bible refutes some teachings while they have no Biblical foundation? Why did Jesus recieve a 'extra suited' posistion from the daddy if he grow to be God? (Phil. 2:9) If the Trinity capacity 'co-equivalent' and 'co-eternal' this might recommend that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit have been ALL co-equivalent....up till this scripture. Now, in accordance to this scripture Jesus has a 'extra suited' place........extra extra suited to the single he had earlier it grow to be 'given' to him. So if the Bible AND the Trinity are the two genuine, this might recommend that Jesus is now greater in posistion in the Trinity than the daddy and Holy Spirit - when you consider that earlier this scripture they have been ALL 'co-equivalent'. How ought to this be plausible? interestingly the two the Bible is incorrect or the Trinity doctrine is incorrect....i ask your self which one?

The "God Head" is mad up of three parts God The Son, God The Father and God The Holy Spirit(Holy Ghost) This is a topic that is hard for most people to see however it is true. Hear are just two of the many verses to help us see this:

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." 1 John 5:7

The Word in this verse is talking about Jesus.

"I and my Father are one." John 10:30

This is Jesus talking.

Well it is quite true that although we are familiar with God we also cannot understand the depth of His mystery, the greatest of these is how God became one of us,I don`t mean why He did so but how.
Yet He did this and Jesus is the God/man and to even get an idea of this we have to know the bad news of the fall before we can start to understand the Good news of the Gospel.
We cannot really grasp the enormity of the event with our finite understanding and this is why the high and noble thing is to believe with faith.

It really poses no problem - First, we believe that Jesus was both FULLY God and FULLY man. As a man he shared the necessities of human existence. As God, He can benefit those who accept his salvation or punish those who refuse him. Prayer was his fellowship and communion with the Father.
Also take note that the Quran also states that God prays.
Sura 33:34
"He(Allah) it is who YOSALLI(literally "prays") upon you and his angels that he may bring you forth from darkness into light."
I know the humanity and sonship of Jesus poses a problem to you as well.
But I can't take the time to go into that here, it takes to long
Write me by email and I'll try to explain more.

Um, if you believe God is all-powerful then certainly this would be possible. It's not like He was sinning or anything. Also, what about in Genesis (KJV) where God talks to Himself in the 'us' form? Jesus had human emotions I imagine, and perhaps the fear of dieng was so strong, He had to reconnect to who He really was? We don't have to know everything about God.
Christianity isn't about whether you can understand everything about Jesus. It's about whether or not you ask for and accept Jesus's free gift of salvation- and hopely choose to give God glory with your life.

Jesus is the Son of God.
You have the Father, The Son and then The Holy Spirit.
You are a lukewarm Christian and that is distasteful to the Lord.
You can not just bounce back and forth between religions because you don't understand something.
That's what bible school is for or a preacher.
I am only just learning the bible and there is so so much i don't understand so i ask my husband or it will come clearer to me during service.
