IN general, yes. If you are with a date or with business contacts, its kind of a terible thing to do. If you are with family, its still wrong, but they may excuse it if what you ordered is best when very hot, or if the restaurant is very slow getting the other meals out to the table.
It should never be a problem, because the restaurant's job is to provide a table's food all together. Any restaurant that frequently messes up the timing of table orders is one I would eventually stop patronizing.

i agree however i work at a restaurant where the cook is slow as hell and never gets the whole order done at the same time.if i know it will be a couple of minutes i take out whats done so its hot. also...in large groups its usual for them to be split into groups such as tables..orders get put in by the table so should each table wait until everyone in the group gets the food or everyone at their table. (ive asked not to work with that cook but sometimes dont have a choice.)

I think the old saying is "when two are served one can eat" this is probably from when there were huge parties say 100 people. You cant wait for all to be served.

If you are in a group and it's a restaurant, it's good to wait for all to be served. If you are in a food court, it's fine to go ahead.

Whether in a restaurant or at home, you wait until everyone has been served. If there is a host, you would wait until they have made the toast.

depend on the restaurant and the ompany and who you are trying to impress but hey unless you feel the need to say grace then dig in.
It is better to eat the meal hot and enjoy it than cold and give the chef a bad review hey
