Even in "whitewash" mode, after the TV has run for an hour or so. Many times in white mode, there seems to be pink shades in the color white. Also, there are red flickering dots when in white. any ideas?

It needs to go in for service...does not sound like a source or configuration issue. Call Samsung about a local authorized servicer or see if you can get it into them.

Try and adjust the brightness, contrast, & color. I'm guessing your Red levels & brightness is setup too high. Manufacturers tend to set brightness very high - so it "looks" good in the store. But this will shorten the life of the display and should be adjusted properly.

You should rent a Video calibration DVD and try to adjust the picture. Or hire a professional.

Redish whites mean two possible things:

a) You set white color temperature to Warm (Movie mode, etc).
Go to settings and set it to Cold or standard

b) You messed up Color/Tint (or Hue/saturation), go to settings and either set to defaults or lower it.

You broke your plasma. Did you use it for gaming, computer, watching static pictures for hours?

I am guessing that you have a burn-in problem. This is not covered by your warranty.
