I'm fluent in 2 languages and that question always appears. I'm sure we all dream in concepts no t in languages. We understand what happened when we remember the dream but not the exact words therefor we have dreamt in pictures and concepts.

Yes it is, but simply learning another language like having classes and studying usually isn't enough, even if you are fluent in it. It takes stronger stimulation to start dreaming in a foreign language. I have been learning and speaking german since primary school, but i started dreaming in it only after i moved to germany for my studies, propably because my brain was overwhelmed by suddenly hearing and using it all the time. After a while it stopped happening as frequently, and after i left germany i can't remember of dreaming in german again. And although my english is fairly good, i have only dreamed in this language once or twice.

I leaned English and lived in English speaking countries
When I lived there I thought and dreamt in English as it was the language I 'existed' in I guess. I was what was around me and the language I used at work at home Always.

Now that I am back in the Netherlands and Dutch is my main language again I dream mainly in Dutch again. However there is a mix to it. I still sometimes want to tell my co-workers things in English. Thankfully they think it is funny

Yes, I've dreamt of myself speaking Indonesian (3rd language) many times. My mum often ask me what I dreamt because she said I was speaking in another foreign language instead of my home language.

Often, in my dreams, I was conscious that I was thinking and even speaking to the characters in Indonesian.

I guess if one is pretty good in the acquired foreign language like me, it is very possible to dream in it. I've often dreamt in other language too, not only my 3rd language.

If you Learned to speak another language, yes I think you would Dream in that language as well as your native language.

I had a friend who spoke excellent German, in his sleep, but never studied German. He only heard me speak it and saw movies with German.

So the mind is a powerful tool if allowed to be fully used.

Yes, I've dreamt of myself in my 2nd language. It's not often, just sometimes. In my dreams, I often dream of myself conversing in Mandarin to the Chinese, though my thoughts were in English. There's a mutual transference of information and code-switching by my brain. This is where the vast potential of the human brain lies.

I have a Persian friend who grew up speaking Farsi. He's been in the UK so long that he now dreams in English. But he still does mental arithmetic in Farsi!
