Those who have posted that Mormons don't believe that God had sexual relations with Mary haven't researched the topic. No, the Journal of Discourses are not considered canon, however, they are records of speeches given in conference by Brigham Young, John Taylor, and other early church leaders. Brigham Young believed that God had sexual relations with Mary as have many LDS presidents since then. If you don't believe it then do a little research rather than just denying it. And denying that the Journal of Discourses is not relevant to Mormonism is just a cop-out. There are quotes from that publication throughout Mormon texts used in Sunday School, Priesthood meetings, and Relief Society meetings. You've just been exposed to the whitewashed version or the "milk." Stop assuming that you "know" the church is true when you don't even "know" your own history.
The argument goes something like this...If God does have a physical body of flesh and bone, why wouldn't he use sexual relations to impregnate Mary? Does God look at sex as something vile and dirty? Or does He think it is something beautiful and holy (as long as it's used according to His commandments)? If God thinks that sex is a beautiful and holy thing, wouldn't that be the most appropriate way to impregnate Mary? Why would it be in some supernatural way? Using some other way would seem unnatural and strange to God.

No. I am a Mormon and don't believe Mary was married to God. I believe God the Father made it possible for Mary to carry Jesus Christ as her child and give a virgin birth to him.
How? I have no idea. I do not understand any of what it would take for that to happen. I do not believe God had sex with Mary and I know no Mormons who believe that either.
If God wanted us to know all the details, we probably would.
For now, we just go on faith that Mary was a virgin, God made the conception happen somehow and that Christ was born...
Journal of Discourses is not church doctrine. No matter what others say, we do not regard them as "scripture"...if they were, they would be in the scriptures.

Journal of Discourses is not official Mormon doctrine. Mormons do not believe that Mary was married to God nor, whatever anti Mormon books may claim, that God had sex with her to beget Jesus. Journal of Discourses is just that - a record of various talks and conversations which might involve speculation, theorising and postulations.
We believe that Jesus is the only person who ever lived on earth who had no human father. God was his father, but but this does not mean that any sexual act was involved - God can do anything, and that includes causing His child to be conceived by miraculous means.

No! Mormons do NOT believe Mary was married to God or anything of the sort. (I know, the Anti-Mormons like to take some obscure teaching from the JoD and twist it around to make it look like Mormon doctrine, but that's their job, right?) By the way, we do not rely upon the Journal of Discourses for doctrine (it's not even owned by the Church, as far as I know). Here is some helpful information regarding the publication of this 26-volume work: http://www.lds.org/portal/site/LDSOrg/menuitem.3933737ad2ff28132eb22a86942826a0/?vgnextoid=bbd508f54922d010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=c9622f2324d98010VgnVCM1000004d82620a____

Christ's DNA mother was Mary and her DNA father was God.
That is what we know. How did that happen, were they married, what took place, etc, etc. There are lots of questions that we don't know the answer to. ( BTW if his only DNA parent were Mary....he'd look exactly like Mary and be female).
This isn't exactly a keystone of Mormon doctrine. Learn about the first principles of Mormonism first, then learn about the hair-splitting and speculative doctrines after that.

We don't use teh J of D as a source of doctrine. If it's doctrine, it's in the scriptures.
Some of us believe that God had to be married to conceive a child with Mary, and we do NOT KNOW how that conception took place.

The J and D explains how the Holy Ghost came over Mary, by calling it, the fact, that God was married to Mary before she came to Earth, this is incest and they hardcore mormons explaint his away by saying that we are all brothers and sisters (each mormon calls each other sister...last name name and brother...last name, so if my last name was everett, I would be sister Everett and we are all brothers and sisters in Christ) Because of the incest thing, it is really not a true doctrine, if certain men embrace it, it encourages incest and help pedaphile to want to go after children in the church, after all God went after Mary. The Catholic church already has enough problems with their preists, but pedaphiles hide in every religion. According to the Holy Ghost coming over mary, I think it is explained that they concimated the married, or I call it artificial incemination, but the inceimnation is my interpretation of the Holy Ghost coming over her, when you think of it that way, it is not so incestuos.

Not a Mormon but, if God is immortal and omnipotent how can God have a mother? Especially an illiterate young Jewish, mortal, woman.
