well your kinda young for it now but i'm also 16 too and getting a tattoo it a big thing. People who get tatoo should think about it for years because it going to be on your skin forever until you get laser surgery. Also to get the tattoo, you need one of your parents or guardian to sign a form allowing the tattoo place to give you a tattoo because if you are under 18 you need parental consent. I strongly advise to wait a few years but its your life so do what you want.

Well I suggest that you get a upper back tattoo because it can be later incorporated into larger and more intricate designs. Another issue is fading. All tattoos fade, but exposure to sun can increase this remarkably, and since most people expose their upper back tattoos having fun in the sunshine, it's important to always keep sunscreen handy to make sure your upper back tattoo keeps looking as cool as it did the day you got it.

if you have made up your mind to get a tat ,make sure you do research and understand whats the meaning for that tattoo design you don't want to get something that means you are something you not , just say you get a tattoo and you don't know what it represents and you end up in jail and then you find out it means you are a child rapist. you don't want something like that , so do some research

Ya, wait till your 18 when you can legally get one.
i have a tattoo and will get another. Take the time to pick something you want the rest of your life because when you 40 you will have to explain to your friends what it is and why you got it. Usually those storys start with, ya when I was a kid and stupid.....
notice all the people that say wait.....there might be something to that???

your 16, and while you think your old...give it a few years. Wait until you are 18. A tatoo should be and idea that you come up with. Not someone else. Just wait until you are 18. that gives you 2 years to think about you tat and make it your own. that way you can be proud of it and have no regrets. I'm not telling you not to get one...by all means....i think tatoos are one of my favorite past times....its just that you should only get tats that you come up with ...not some stranger....happy tatooing!

Don't get it done at 16. Wait a few years until you have experienced life enough to get something meaningful on your body.

Make sure it's something you'll want when your old and wrinkly.
No boyfriends name.
No band symbol/name.
And don't do something just because it looks "cool" (like a butterfly or a rose or something)
And go to a good clean tattoo shop.
